We found ourselves at the Loch Kinord Hotel Restaurant one evening because our first option had unexpectedly closed due to staff issues and we had to find plan B. I have to say, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food.
I was a little concerned with our first impression. We arrived around 6:30 and no one was in the dining room. They didn't have any tables set up for 4 (must not get many families) but they were able to fit us in. The decor is a little on the stereotypically "inn-ish" and perhaps a little dated / stuffy. Most of the clientele were older couples and dressed a little nicer than us.
All that aside, the food was really good. A had a creamy mushroom starter and the lamb main. The lamb came with a black pudding mash (more potato than black pudding, which was good). Afraid I don't recall what the others had, but all were happy.
Glad we stumbled into it.
