“Lovely quiet and cosy cottage”

I wanted to book a place for my son and I to stay while we went winter climbing/skiing and mountaineering, but also where my wife could relax in a quiet and peaceful surrounding.
From the moment of my first enquiry through to booking and being in the house we had nothing but great service from Lisa and Steve. They responded really promptly to any questions I had and it felt a privilege to be able to stay in their wonderful cottage.
The cottage itself is wonderfully appointed, warm, comfortable, very quiet and handily close to the centre of Ballater for all the shops and conveniences a town of this size has.
Not only that, but it is well situated to be able to take advantage of access to the Southern Cairngorms and Lochnagar - ideal for what my son and I wanted to do.
the only thing missing was perfect winter conditions, but that's the risk of coming to Scotland isn't it?

“Amazing Place to Stay”
Reviewed 25 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Stayed there for a weekend and the cottage was fabulous. Felt very much like a home from home. Very cosy and very comfortably furnished. The photos don't do the place justice. The mani street is only a 2 minute walk away. I was lucky with the weather and got hillwalking with amazing walks right on the doorstep. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay in Ballater, very convenient for all the towns amenities but set in a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle.

“Fabulous cottage in wonderful location”
Reviewed 10 December 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We couldn't rate this holiday cottage highly enough. It was immaculately clean, homely, and very well equipped. The living room had a lovely cosy feel to it and we enjoyed spending our evenings reading and playing games in beautiful peace and quiet. It was a short walk to the centre of the village, with a great selection of shops and cafes.

“An absolute treat!”
Reviewed 12 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We've just had an excellent holiday in Ballater staying at Cornellan Cottage. It really felt like home from home. It's well equipped and very comfortable. We were very fortunate and enjoyed beautiful weather. But if it had rained we'd have tucked up and kept warm here. It's brilliantly convenient for the town shops and restaurants. Ballater is a first rate base to discover the Cairngorms and to travel a little further to the Aberdeenshire coast. I'd love to come back as there's so much we didn't manage to see this trip.

“Perfect cosy cottage in Ballater”
Reviewed 13 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We stayed Easter weekend 2015 the cottage is stunning and beautifully kitted out with all mod cons yet in a gorgeous stone building with a traditional cosy feel completed by the open fire which was ready for us to light upon arrival - nice touch! Excellent location with lots to do in the area. Highly recommended - the photos do not do it justice. You will not regret booking this, its a gem.

“Lovely cottage in a great location”
Reviewed 13 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Cornellan Cottage is a cosy, well-equipped cottage in the middle of Ballater. It's set in a pretty courtyard within a few minutes walk of the shops, pubs and cafes and has its own private parking space. The cottage is clean, very well decorated and furnished and has free wifi. We'd been sent a list of all the equipment when we confirmed our booking which was very helpful, though I'm glad we didn't need the umbrellas that were provided! Ballater is a great base to explore Deeside and the surrounding area and the cottage had lots of tourist information as well as a selection of books and games. All in all, a real home from home.
