Our experience of Bistrot Pierre started out ok, with a reasonably quick dish of white bait for starters. All of our problems, however, started soon after this. We waited a whole one hour for the main course to appear, this was only after asking the waiters a couple of times about where it was. They had clearly forgotten about us because the meal came out in a terrible state. Half of it wasn't cooked properly at all. one of us had raw pastry under their Tarte flambé and the chips were soft with uncooked oil around the outside. One of the waitresses even had the cheek of saying that the pastry was cooked and that we didn't know what the pastry should look like. It was soggy, cold and translucent!!
The Poulet au citron was literally just a breast of chicken in the middle of a bowl with some creamy sauce on top. We were also given no choice over what sides we wanted with these meals. They simply came out with a sad looking bowl of vegetables and chips, without any explanation as to why they were there. The only plus point from this experience was that the manager was very understanding. He explained that the gas had gone out in the kitchen, making it very difficult to fulfil the orders. We found this excuse hard to believe, since there were plenty of other meals coming out of the kitchen over this period. Even if this was true, why were the staff not honest with us about this in the first place? I can safely say that this was the worst restaurant experience we have ever had and will not be returning to any Bistro Pierre's from now on.
