Fabulous hotel, excellent location for flying from Manchester Airport! The hotel offers a free taxi service over to the airport. The manager Jonathon could not have been anymore helpful if he tried. His customer service was excellent and went out his way to cause us a stress free holiday! Would thoroughly recommend.

Had a two night stay with a gift voucher.
When checking in the lady was lovely. Told us where our room was. Still managed to get lost.
Asked a lady cleaning one of the other rooms took us to our room.
We had a few problems with the tv and the boiler breaking down. But this can happen anytime.
All in all. Lovely hotel. Lovely staff.
Please go to this hotel on the positive side.

I stayed for business in March 2014. I stayed in room 2, in the basement.

The room itself was fine, the water pressure / temperature in the bathroom was good and overall ot seemed clean if a little worn. On the other hand, the window in my room looked out on a wall and the door did not seem to lock securely from the outside- there was a lot of 'give' in it.

The basement corridor has a 'security door' at one end and a fire exit at the other. I saw both propped open at various points during my stay, presumably for the staff's convenience. It made me feel unsafe as a lone traveller that anyone could have free access to the hotel and particularly to the basement corridor, which felt like there was no-one else staying on it. The carpets in the basement corridor were very worn and shabby and to be honest I felt like a second class guest.

My colleagues also stayed at the hotel and apparently their room had bathrobes, fruit and a nespresso coffee machine! Perhaps we were booked on a different rate but it almost seemed like they were staying in a different hotel - I didn't even get biscuits on my tea tray.

I would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Avoid the basement!

Sorry to hear that the stay was not enjoyed despite a clear room with good facilities.
Corridors are open during the day for guest convenience as these are times when there is regular traffic and staff constantly around, they are however secure in the quieter times requiring key access. Can assure you all rooms are regularly used but regret if you felt isolated in any way.
We do have a variety of room standards that attract different tariffs and additional extras such as Nespresso coffee machines and other enhancements can also be purchased which your colleague clearly chose to do.
Whilst all rooms have tea and coffee making facilities sadly the addition of free biscuits are a thing of the past in most branded hotels these days

Staff were very cheerful and helpful, room was comfortable, spacious and quiet. The breakfast was very good and served until a reasonable time at the weekend. Ideal location for a trip to Manchester via the metro link!

We held a funeral reception here and our party took 6 rooms for the night before the funeral. I was concerned about the poor reviews on this website but our experience was very good. The staff were very kind to us and our rooms were all in good working order. They were spacious and comfortable. we asked for a special afternoon tea menu for the reception and the quality was good and they set up the room well while we were at the funeral. I feel that the staff are trying hard.At breakfast they made us fresh eggs and toast.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the back are quieter but less sunny Rooms on ground floor very convenient

This Hotel is tired in more ways than one, I was allocated a room on the top floor of this Hotel, the door on the bedroom had been kicked in at some time and had been poorly repaired, not a good start. It was pleasing to see they had a nice flat screen TV, it was disappointing that once switched on it appeared that they needed a new aerial.

It did not really matter as the TV mount was broken and the TV pointed at the floor, not a problem if your two foot tall or sleeping on the floor! I decided to have an early night but was kept awake by a banging noise, in the morning I discovered that there was no handle on the bathroom window and it had banged all night. I ate in the restaurant, it was not much better, the service was slow and the food poor, not one for a repeat visit.

Accept these comments and regret any failings much of which could have been corrected on the day had they been flagged up at the time.
I realise it is of little consolation to you now but most of the issues were corrected immediately following your departure and belive you would see marked improvements on any subsiquent visit
