Premier Inn Welwyn Garden City Hotel
Reviewed 30 July 2014

Stayed here as we were attending a wedding at Tewin Bury Farm Hotel and TB Farm wanted £130/night - it was a 10 minute £10 taxi away (split between 4 of us) and £61 for a night.

Check-in was swift and polite lady (Pauline?!) behind the counter gave us all the info needed.

Room was incredibly clean and very large too - the only thing i could fault was the shower was a bit weak and there was no air conditioning - this wouldn't have been a problem, but it was 27 degrees in the room - they did however provide a floor standing fan to blow cooler air - which did the job - in the spring, autumn or winter months this would have been fine.

Late checkout was standard for us at 12pm - and couple that with the amazing (£8.95) breakfast thats available until 11:30am means you have have a big night out and not miss out.

Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area or doing the same as we did.

Hope that helps.

Do not stay at this hotel. There is no air con.The temp in our room for the whole stay was 30 deg.We had no sleep at all.
It was so uncomfortable.
It is also next to a railway line which keeps you awake when you have to keep windows open to breath

Like many review on here have already said there is no air con. But they have done their best with this heatwave. The windows were open and curtains closed to keep the room cool and a floor standing fan provided. Rooms were really clean and tidy. The lady working on reception - Pauline was delightful and really helpful. We were very stressed on arrival as we were heading to a wedding and she couldn't have made our check-in more pleasant. Plenty of parking. Good breakfast next door at the Beefeater.

Went away as a family for the night. The receptionist was very polite and friendly. Our family room was a bit squashed but would be ok for the night and there was a free standing fan working in the corner of the room. Turns out that when you are trying to sleep that the free standing fan creaked and only pushed the hot air around the room. Opened the window to help cool the room down. Needless to say that the creaky fan, the opened window that let the train noise in did not amount to a restful nights sleep.

Room Tip: Visit when it is cold and ask for a first floor room so you can open your curtains.

If you want to listen to trains it could be for you! If you hate air conditioning and want to roast it would suit you. As I wanted neither this was the hotel from hell!
It does have plenty of parking.
