Holiday Inn Express London - Heathrow T5

We selected this hotel due to its close proximity to the airport. We stayed overnight before our flight back to the U.S the following morning. We came back from Paris on Eurostar that night before our return flight the next day. Service and accomodation was very good. The room was spacious and bathroom was modern. The guys at the reception desk were very helpful. They arranged a cab to take us to Terminal 3 the next morning at a reasonable price. The black cab we took from St. Pancras to the hotel was a ripoff. We paid 80 pounds. Its better to arrange for transportation ahead of time so you won't get sticker shock. The hotel had free breakfast and the selection was decent.

This hotel is perfectly located nearby Heathrow Airport. It is a good starting point if you land at night and have to start driving the next day outside London.
The room was big and convenient, internet was OK, and breakfast was reasonable.
Dinner is another story – the hotel has two restaurants: Italian and English. The Italian was full with 45 minutes waiting time, and the English was good with quick service. The variety is not big, but good enough not to go hungry to sleep.
The hotel is full with groups, buses come and go, so expect a crowded but convenient hotel.
As the hotel is located in the middle of nowhere, don’t expect too much outside the hotel

Room Tip: a room that is not facing the main road

I stayed at this hotel at the weekend with my three children. We had a lovely room with a double bed and a pull out sofa bed. Thick curtains ensuring we had a good nights sleep. I took the children to legoland so this hotel was a good location for that, it's quite a way from Heathrow but I did see lots of shuttle buses so easy to get there if staying for a while before catching a flight. The bathroom was AMAZING!!!! Lovely huge shower cubical and clearly recently renovated. Room was lovely clean and modern. TV with lots of channels, kettle and tea/coffee etc. Looked at the menu for dinner but not a huge range of food so we decided to eat out. Had a good sleep despite walls being thin, the noise was not too bad even though we were right next to the lifts. Very quiet despite being close to airport and opposite a busy road. Staff lovely. Breakfast was OK, couldn't believe NO BACON!!!! But there was sausages, beans, scrambled egg, cereals, toast & preserves and croissants as well as some drained tins of canned fruit. I would stay here again, very pleasant with plenty of parking.

This hotel is clean, efficient, fairly comfortable, and completely lacking in any character whatsoever. In other words, exactly what you might expect from a Holiday Inn Express. If you are flying from T5 at Heathrow then you are pretty sure of a decent room. I can't imagine anyone staying here for any other reason, but its good for airport convenience.

The car park is very convenient, and a Hotel Hoppa service can take you straight to the Terminal - although we found parking at nearby Hilton hotel to be much cheaper.

The Tratts restaurant had some bad reviews on TripAdviser, but we found an excellent Italian restaurant barely five minutes away. If I ever remember the name of it I'll be sure to review it!

In short this hotel is nothing special, but sometimes that's all you want as you head towards a more exotic destination, so we would come again.

Stayed in HIEX T5 one night as part of Legoland holiday extra package. We arrived the hotel around 5pm on 29th June. Very close to motorway junction and in a very convenient location. Check-in process was hassle free. The person at the desk, cannot remember his name, was very pleasent polite and helpful. He explained that our package includes free parking and free wi-fi before even I inquired. All I had to do was key my reg. no. on his desktop.

We booked a family room. Room was facing the main road and not very big and appeared smaller than premier inn. Could not open the window, may be due to triple galzing.Almost sound proof from outside, could not hear any noice from planes. One double bed, which was comfy, but not the double sofa bed. No wardrobe. Large mirror and hair dryer. Television and coffee making facilities. Bathroom was spacious, very clean and modern. Walk-in shower,No bath, that was ok with us.. Plenty of towels.

I felt too warm in the room though I set the thermostat to 16 and fan to high. WiFi connection was very good.

Breakfirst was good. Staff not very friendly, looking stressed. Good collection of cereals and croissants, fruits, toast ,sausages and scrambled eggs. No bacon. Plenty of drinks from machine, chocomilk was very good, also expresso, cappucino and many other options.,orange juice, tea and plain milk. Could not find tea spoons, had to use tablespoon to stir the drinks.

I have an IHG club account, but the guy at the reception in the morning stated that they cannot update my points as I booked through Legoland.

There is a petrol station M and S simply food outlet right at the opposite, which was open till late. Harvester pub almost walking distance away.

Overall our stay was uneventful. Would we stay there again? Probably !
