“Pleasant helpful staff, close to Heathrow. Very relaxing.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2012

Returning from a two week Northern Europe trip, we were tired and were welcomed by a gracious staff and nice hotel. Bar staff was very pleasant but I can't remeber the name of our very efficient waitress. The Hotel Hoppa Bus worked perfectly with this spot and we travelled almost painlessly between Heathrow and the Hotel both arriving and departing.

Room Tip: We had a long walk from elevator but this was not a problem for us - others might not like.

Stayed here after a conference recently and found it very good indeed. The staff were pleasant, efficient and attentive and as a woman on my own, I didn't feel at all uncomfortable eating alone in the restaurant. The food was excellent - if a bit on the pricey side - but you get what you pay for. The room was clean and bright as was the bathroom and the bed and bedding some of the most comfortable I have experienced in the many hotels I have stayed at for both business and pleasure. I would definitely recommend it and it would be a firm choice should I need to stay in the area again.

Room Tip: Check out prices directly with the hotel as they can generally give you a better deal/upgrade.

We have often stayed at this hotel and it has certainly improved since it's refurbishment. We enjoyed a lovely weekend here and the staff really were very attentive and responsive. Breakfast was as always, a complete delight and the hotel ambience is very relaxing and pleasant. My only gripe is to do with the parking. Since November last year the hotel have out sourced their car park and the car park is now owned and managed by an independent company who charge you £9 per day for parking whether you are a hotel resident or not! We were quite astonished at this extra charge, not least because it is not clear from their website that these charges have been introduced... so beware!

Room not bad and plenty of space. Decent sized Gym which wasreally good and well equipped, it has a pool also but did not try that. Food over priced. Staff friendly and helpfull. Bit noisy but what do you expect next to Heathrow airport

The rooms were comfortable and clean, though just before leaving, I noticed some stains on the bed skirt, implying a lack of attention to detail. The staff was efficient and friendly, and even gave my children each a little activity bag on arrival. This hotel is very convenient for Heathrow Airport, about 15 minutes away by car. We did not eat in the restaurant, which seemed very pricey. If you have a car, there are plenty of dining options close by in Slough, and we got a picnic breakfast from the Sainsburys just up the road. Parking was reasonable at 9 GBP/night, but they charge a ridiculous 15 GBP/day for wifi!

I stayed here with family in late July 12. We wanted a short break to Legoland and booked direct with the hotel as they offered a deal that included tickets. We requested an early check-in however, as is normal when travelling with kids, we arrived later than expected! Our room however wasn't ready but this was no big deal as we collected our Legoland tickets and made our way to the theme park. On arrival back at the end of the day everything was ready and the check in was seamless.

The main feature that distinguishes this hotel from other Marriott's I have stayed in is the friendliness of the staff. Everyone seems eager to please. The staff are genuinely chatty and friendly and made our stay a real pleasure. This isn't just the guys on check-in, it's pervasive throughout the whole hotel. You can't go anywhere without someone smiling or chatting with you and I have to say that none of it seemed false or contrived. The staff are a real credit to the hotel.

There was only one blot on the page during our stay. We were travelling with our 9 month old daughter and wanted a small bowl of food heating for her evening meal. This happened once without incident however on the second occasion we were presented with a legal document to sign disclaiming all liability for claims against Marriott should some form of injury occur due to the heating of the food (what?!?). This was, in my opinion, complete overkill however I didn't let it impact on my impression of the hotel. One point however, and perhaps if someone at Marriott is reading this they should take note - it is ILLEGAL under UK Law to exclude liability for personal injury or death resulting from negligence. What you're doing is asking your staff to get customers to sign an illegal document...unless tepid baby food can kill from anything other than negligence;)

Anyway, all in all it was a good stay and, unnecessary legal documents aside, I would visit the hotel again. It's a comfortable hotel with great staff and easily located for Legoland with just a short jump onto the M4 for 3 miles and then off again before you're ready to spend the day queuing and spending too much money on plastic bricks!!
