Part of a chain, Greene King, this is by no means a gastro pub, but the very reasonably priced menu reflects that and the food is worth the money. The menu is very varied, from traditional pub grub, to some indian, chinese and mexican type dishes. Also there are quite a few starters, sharing platters and side orders. We had the roast beef and yorkshire pudding wrap (x2), double bacon cheeseburger and chicken burger, all of which came with generous accompaniments making a large meal. for all four of us it was £28. great value. drinks are averagely priced and there are deals to be had, for example double measures for an extra £1.25, and they have guest ales and a fair selection of wines. It is extremely child friendly, with a large garden, basic play area, kids menu, and sweet and toy machines in the pub. however kids do not take over if you wish to be away from them. there is also a disabled toilet and baby changing facilities. Staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is welcoming. would highly recommend as long as you are not expecting a gastro pub menu. for the type of pub it is and the menu it offers, the food is very good.
