Holiday Inn Express Slough

My wife and I were delighted when we stayed here recently en route to London. Our room was surprisingly spacious given that this is a budget hotel, it was very clean, well designed and the bed very comfortable. It was also surprisingly quiet wrt adjacent guest and corridor noise - we did not hear any train noise from the adjacent railway station but we were overlooking the car park so this may be a factor. All the staff were very kind, friendly, helpful and efficient with Renata especially worthy of a mention. Given the hotel's easy access to the M4, a hotel car park and regular train service to London Paddington - takes roughly 20 minutes with a return ticket price of £8 - the Holiday Inn Express at Slough is a very attractive alternative to staying in a hotel in central London. We shall certainly use it again!

Stayed here for business in early December for 5 nights. I've stayed in Holiday Inns around the world and it's funny how the quality changes depending on the country. Of course this is a Holiday Inn Express so it's a step below the regular Holiday Inns.

It's not a bad hotel for a few days. Rooms are very clean with decent facilities. You do need to request a room on the opposite site of the train tracks - I didn't hear the trains at night but I was also using ear plugs. The meals in the restaurant are ok - nothing to write home about but edible. There were only a few mains to choose from though so if you stay there for more than 4 or 5 nights you've exhausted all the options. One downside is that after 10.30 at night they don't accept cash for anything eg. internet, so you have to use credit card. Normally this isn't a problem but if you are from overseas then each time you use your card you are also being charged conversion fees etc...

Good location in terms of being close to the train station. As people have said - if on the fast train it's 20 min to Paddington station.

Staff are friendly and helpful. I did have a problem with the internet cable in the first room I was given and a staff member very kindly allowed me to check a cable in another room and when it worked allowed me to move to that room.

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking the car park so you are not on the same side as the train lines

My girlfriend and I have stayed many times at the Hotel and have always found the staff and to be very helpful. Renata, in particular, always takes the time and effort to ensure you have a great stay. As other reviewers have mentioned the Hotel is situated next door to the station so it's ideal for nipping in to London. To sum up , if you need a good quality, very clean , close to the mainline for London and surrounding area Hotel, the Holiday Inn Express, Slough, get my thumbs up !

Room Tip: Maybe choose a room facing the car park as it should be quieter than those facing the rail tracks.

I have just spent one night at this hotel. I found the rooms to be very clean and comfortable. However, the room overlooked the train station with trains passing through at what seemed every minute during the day! So I advise you to keep your window firmly closed. As I sleep quite heavily I cannot speak about any night time trains, but I did keep my window closed which meant it became quite stuffy. We were informed that we could not use cash in the bar after 10pm and as we did not have our credit cards with us we were unable to buy a drink on our return to the hotel in the evening as we couln't make any charges to our rooms..Although the buffet breakfast was plentiful, it was not of the standard I would expect at a Holiday Inn. The scrambled eggs were tasteless.

Room Tip: Ask for a front facing room for peace

Stayed for one night with family. Rooms are clean and just about big enough.

Free breakfast is great and plentiful. Service from all staff on reception and in restaurant was excellent.

Great value deal for a family room.

Only two small niggles: the double bed is a bit on the soft side and so there tends to be the roll-together effect; and secondly the trains from the nearby station can be heard throughout the night. I mentioned this to the receptionist at checkout, who apologised and said that in the future, we could request a car-park facing room at check-in for a quieter night.

Room Tip: Request a car-park facing room for a quieter night.

Due to a pick up location for our hire car, we decided to stay near to that depot. Only a 20 minute train ride from Paddington Station, Slough is more central and way more affordable than staying in London. Also a good place to stay for the other places in the countryside well accessed by train. The hotel was comfortable, staff more than helpful, and right next to the train station. Easy internet access. Meals were excellent. Atmosphere was very relaxing in restaurant and resident Bar. Walking distance to some excellent shopping. Windsor is only a 10 minute drive away. The only downside perhaps is the lack of a local Pub.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the opposite side of the hotel to the Railway station.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Slough for two nights in October.

The hotel was a little difficult to find but is conveniently situated right beside the train station. We had to park in the station car park on our first night but hotel staff were very helpful in advising us how to make payment. The room was very clean and fresh and the beds were comfortable.

The breakfast was plentiful and of a reasonable quality given that it is included in the rate. The buffet area was rather crowded on our first morning but, as the hotel warns, they have no control over when people decide to take breakfast.

Staff were very pleasant throughout and we would have no hesitation staying here again - especially given the very reasonable price we paid.
