This is a first class hotel. My wife took me here for my birthday and we had a 2 night half board package.
The service from all the staff was superb, they are highly trained and nothing is too much trouble. The room with a sea view wasn't massive but fine for a weekend. The food was excellent and the quantity was more than you usually get from a hotel.
So now for the title of the review. The hotel is so old-fashioned that it is charming. It is part of the family owned Brend group and we will certainly try the others. Please do not modernise it. The clientèle is of the senior nature and the zimmers can cause traffic jams.
The hotel employ a falconer to keep the sea-gulls away and we were privileged to watch him work his birds.
My wife and I have recently been to so called 'top hotels' in the UK and we have been disappointed. The Victoria shows that we can still do it in the UK. If you are looking for a quiet short break in a lovely quaint seaside town then ignore the cost come here.More
