For the price a good set Sunday lunch is excellent value. We had the buffet for our starter followed by the roast beef, chicken and lamb. All good. We had the cheese board which was ok. Why don’t restaurants ever give you enough biscuits with your cheese? Coffee was taken on the terrace. All in all very good, especially when you consider the lovely setting, linen and silver service.

Great weekend at the Victoria. Service friendly, professional and excellent. Lovely to be able to use outdoor pool in September. Restaurant and bar superb. Food better than ever. We will look forward to next visit.

Room tip: Too many swags and twin beds very small.

We returned to Sidmouth for a relaxing visit at the Victoria Hotel and were nit disappointed. From the time we were greeted with a cold plate from dinner saved for us due to a late arrival to our departure on Sept. 2 we were treated like a king and queen. We will hopefully some day soon for another relaxing visit to this lovely seaside town.

I have stayed here many times before, but this was my first visit in ten years.During all the years, the hotel has remained immaculate and oh so comfortable. The staff are always helpful and make you feel as if you have just returned to your home., The amenities are top notch. We had a front balcony room on this visit, and as usual, it was clean and comfortable, and the view was outstanding. The dining room service was 5 star, and the food, outstanding. We enjoyed the beautiful inside pool and the heated tile beds. They have a lovely outside pool in a great setting. We used it a few times on this stay.If you still want the ocean dip, then it is minutes from the hotel. The location is so convenient to the beautiful Connaught Gardens, the beach front, and the town.I will not wait so long to return this time. You leave there feeling pampered.

Room tip: I do not think that there is a bad room in this hotel.
