We met friends here for afternoon tea which was excellent. The service was quick and efficient and the food very good. Both we and our friends enjoyed it and the price was reasonable for the standard of hotel.

Took my 91 yr old mother here for 2 days to visit the nearby Donkey Sanctuary and had a lovely time. We had room 206 which is a lovely big room, with a comfy bed and a wonderful sea view. My mother had a lovely single room and it was set up so she could lie in bed and see the sea. The welcome was superb, the car and luggage dealt with efficiently. The restaurant was excellent, all the staff were polite and obviously well trained. The food choice for dinner was extensive and delicious. The wine list is rather overpriced even for this standard of hotel.
Would definitely recommend and stay there again,

The Riviera Hotel is the much-loved creation of its family owners.
We stayed in a bay-fronted suite overlooking the sea, with wide views up and down the coastline.
Wide opening windows, what a pleasure with sea air and the sound of waves on the beach, just 25 metres away.
Dining is a genteel affair, with well-considered menus and attentive staff.

Room Tip: We had a second floor bay-fronted room for the best sea views.

This hotel has a price per person policy.. I travel all round the world and it's rare to come across this outdated approach to pricing. The price should be for the room.. in my view pricing per person is just a way to make more money and rip customers off, as most people probably stay as couples at this hotel. It is horrendously overpriced. I wouldn't have minded so much if they had invested in design but the decor is tacky and like stepping back in time 30 years. Some people may like that but I certainly didn't. Since I stayed I have had no end of marketing materials posted and emailed to me, which suggests they struggle to sell their rooms. I suggest they focus on price and design rather than marketing.. word of mouth would soon mean that they'd be full. After all, this hotel is in a beautiful location.

A three night stay. (May 23,24 & 25) Room 205. We have visited this Hotel three times now with friends and each time we have really enjoyed our stay, our booking was made with bed breakfast and evening meal built into the price of which we preferred because of our past experience with the excellent menu this restaurant had to offer. Our sea view room was spotless as with the decoration and the service which is faultless throughout our stay. The comprehensive menu was difficult to choose because of the variety of choice which was served impeccably with the comprehensive wine list been reasonably priced. Well worth a visit, with lovely walks, even at night when walking along the lit seafront. we will return....

Room Tip: We have only book sea front rooms before and have never been disapointed.
