“Thoroughly enjoyable”
Reviewed 9 February 2014 for a stay in January 2014

We enjoyed our stay in Sundowner Cottage and felt immediately at home when we arrived. We appreciated the welcome pack and the lovely flowers. The cottage is warm and cosy and beautifully furnished. We didn't lack anything at all during our stay. We had lots of rain but to sit by the logfire, read a book or enjoy a film on the large tv screen was very relaxing. There is a well assorted choice of books to choose from. The beds are comfortable. The well heated bathroom was an additional bonus. Sidmouth is well worth a stay and we loved walking along the esplanade. Watching the surfers and the walkers with their dogs was very entertaining. Thank you, Jo and Peter.

We’re glad to hear that our guests felt at home at the cottage and found it a cosy and relaxing winter retreat. Sidmouth esplanade is one of our favourite English places, whatever the weather, and we don’t need much excuse to seek shelter in one of the local pubs or cafes if it gets a bit blustery. The Clock Tower café, perched on the cliff overlooking the beach, is particularly welcoming on a stormy day and well worth the climb.

“An Ideal Getaway”
Reviewed 17 December 2013 for a stay in November 2013

A Lovely little cottage in a very handy location. Within easy reach of Sidmouth town centre along a beautiful walk through the Byes. Lots of thought has obviously gone into making the cottage as comfortable as possible with seemingly every small detail taken care of. Great communication from the owners who were very helpful. Can definitely recommend.

Liked best: The interior was of a very high standard, comfortable and clean.
Liked least: The cottage doesn't have a view, however this does not detract.

We really appreciate this reviewer’s kind comments. The walk into Sidmouth along the riverside Byes is one of our favourites at any time of the year and it’s great to hear that our guests enjoy it too.

“A great cottage in an excellent location”
Reviewed 25 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

This was an ideal cottage with quality furnishings, tasteful decor and a homely feel. All the appliances worked well and there were lots of logs for the wood burner to make it really cosy. It's in a great location - a short walk through the Byes to the town, and the Spar shop on hand for the odd bit of shopping - Waitrose is very close by too! It was perfect to be able to walk to the cinema and see a recent release. Jo was outstanding in communicating with the booking, and afterwards too. We would highly recommend this property in Sidmouth.

We stay at the cottage throughout the year ourselves so it’s important to us that it’s cosy and homely in the winter and it’s always great to hear that our guests feel at home there too. We love the local cinema – it’s a great option for a rainy afternoon. We are looking forward to welcoming these guests back for a return visit soon.

Lovely cottage, nicely decorated, spotlessly clean, with parking. One minute walk to 'The Byes' which is a beautiful level riverside walk between Sidford and Sidmouth. 15 minute walk via 'The Byes' into town and beach, also Spar shop around the corner. Very comfortable quality beds and bed linen, soft fluffy towels in bathroom and good hairdryer. Good quality kitchen appliances and sitting room with flat screen TV and DVD player, (DVDs provided for both adults and children) and 2 comfy sofas. Lots of local information leaflets provided and books and board games. All in all very homely and comfortable.
