“Intimate little theatre”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 October 2013

This is a lovely small, old-fashioned theatre and the Company change the plays each week. We saw Deathtrap which was very well acted and a very enjoyable drama. Being a small theatre, there is a good view to be had from all seats (we sat near the back as we only booked at the last minute and they do get rather busy) but could see and hear clearly. A lovely atmosphere and, as an added bonus, we met the actors at the end of the evenings performance.

“Wonderful 'old fashioned' theatre”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 September 2013

We went to two different plays here, just under a week apart. The first evening we just turned up half an hour before the performance, for the second my partner walked up & booked the same seats for the first night of new play. Both nights were very enjoyable & of an excellent standard. The seating is good as are the little ice cream trolleys in the break. Was so nice just to go to a lovely, well maintained, atmospheric theatre with an amazing 12 week summer season of 12 different plays. We were very pleased to hear that the Company have been commissioned for the summer season next year.

“Lovely theatre & great performances”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 September 2013

My husband and I were staying in Sidmouth and went to see The Dining Room, a super play with both comedy and pathos - absolutely brilliant; the Paul Taylor Mills company should be congratulated on their performance. We booked and paid in advance from home and our tickets were waiting for us when we arrived in Sidmouth. There is a lovely bar with drinks and nibbles at reasonable prices, plus tea and coffee etc. and of course ice creams during the interval too. There is a change of play during the week instead of a Saturday with the added advantage that anyone staying Sat to Sat on holiday anytime during the long season, can then see two different plays. The theatre is a real gem, with ballet, Gilbert & Sullivan, drama, concerts and pantomime, all on stage at this wonderful central venue. Do go along you will not be disappointed.

“Friendly and a great programme of plays on offer.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 September 2013

The box office staff were friendly and helpful. The seating is comfortable and there is enough rake to enable a good view from almost all seats. [There are a couple of seats by a pillar]. The acoustics seem good and I had no problem hearing all the dialogue.

“Good entertainment”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2013

Went with my son to see treasure Island and really enjoyed it. Food to buy in the interval, as its not huge there is only a limited choice but it has all you need. You can buy tickets in advance which is best as they sell out quick, A nice range of different plays, they do matinee and evening perfomances. Staff are friendly and helpful
