We grabbed a late booking here, pretty much looking for anything in the South Bay side. Had a friendly chat with Tina on the phone and explained we would be arriving later than the usual guest, about 8pm. Due to silly traffic problems this turned into 9:15pm but our hostess met us with a warm welcome and we immediately felt like it was home from home.

Parked up in the private driveway straight away, then found ourselves chatting away with Tina in the bar and relaxing in no time, then were shown up to our room.

Super room with fresh decor and newly kitted out shower that worked great. Everything was spotless, totally mint! Hairdryer, clean fresh blankets, good tea service. All we needed...

Had a good nights sleep on a good bed, fair do's. Breakfast is smashing, full English is the full works, and the jams looked tasty too. Thanks chef!

We only had 2 nights there, but would love to return for a proper long weekend next time. Location is good for a short walk to the clifftop tramway down to the Spa, or alternatively over the Valley Bridge. Very easy journey into the guest house from A64 - none of that town-centre hassle...

This place sets a high standard, you won't be disappointed!

Stayed over in March as myself and the wife were at a wedding nearby, price was extremely good value as a breakfast was inclusive, £55 all-in for myself and wife. The landlady was lovely, knew we had a wedding to attend and quickly showed us our room and wished us a nice day.

The room itself had coffee, bottled water a TV shower and a nice comfy bed. Just as you'd expect. The breakfast the following morning was delicious, non-greasy, and served in a communal lounge, where other people (seemingly on business) chatted politely and went about their day.

After we check-out, I realised i'd left a very expensive jacket, which the landlady posted back to my address at her own expense, above and beyond the call of duty of your standard B&B.

We usually stay at your bog-standard Premier Inn, but would return of to Powys Lodge after a lovely experience.

Very friendly hostess who took the time to chat with us each day and got to know us very well. The rooms were modern and comfortable and we had no problems relaxing each evening. We had a fantastic breakfast freshly prepared for us every morning.

Room Tip: Don't be afraid to call Tina to discuss your requirements; she is very friendly.

Travelling alone with 2 young children is quite daunting, so to be met and welcomed by Tina smiling at the door was fantastic and very reassuring. The whole place is great, rooms are comfortable and modern and absolutely spotless. Breakfast was cooked superbly and Tina buzzes about making sure you are happy and have everything you need. I honestly cannot praise Powys Guest House high enough and will definitely back! Thanks again Tina x

Stayed here in the week leading up to Easter whilst working in area, our company usually books us premier inn or travelodge but booked us here for 4 nights . Very friendly welcome and great communication on our needs for breakfast and our room . The rooms are very modern decor for a B&B , freeview TV that worked very well , a fair sized wardrobe , coffee , tea, hot chocolate , biscuits all of good quality brands ,very clean bathroom and good shower . Breakfast was very nice each morning and generous . Most of all the friendly hospitality of landlady was great .
