Every year we return to Scarborough - and each time it brilliant. Amazing breakfast which you choose the day before - freshly cooked and yum, I miss it loads. Cereal, fresh fruit salad, orange juice, toast, tea/coffee - (and the fry up lol). Hotel is excellent and kept to and very high standard. Thanks Derek for yet again a great stay. Gillian & Caitlyn

We spent two nights here with our grandson. We arrived with a tired five year old and were warmly welcomed.
The first night was a late addition and Derek said he could accommodate us in the family room in the attic Fair enough it is not large but it has a double bed, a single bed and a shower and wc room/ What more do you need. On the second night we had the room we had booked a very nice room at the front of the house. This has a double bed and two single beds. Also not the sane noise from the seagulls at 5.00am. as in the attic room.
Both rooms were clean and all beds have smooth white bedding.
The breakfast was great. Having ordered it the night before you got what you liked. Patience was definitely there with the children who visited. The fruit salad was a fresh mixed fruit salad and far outshone many four/five star hotel breakfast salads I have eaten
Derek took our bags up for us on the first day and moved them for us on the second. He offered to bring them down on the day we left
Derek ensured we knew the best places to take our grandson and recommended places to eat
on an evening. This venue is handy for the tram/lift down to the sea front. Parking was easy right outside the door. Lots of space on the street Ideal family holiday break. If we have our grandson again we will return.

We were 4 persons staying at this hotel for 5 nights and we all experienced a very high level of service. They took really good care of you and any complaint or question was immediately taken care of.
We got what we expected and furthermore a FANTASTIC service!
Wonderful breakfast with a fruit bowl, colorful and fresh every morning!

Room Tip: The hotel is quiet but remember it is close to the sea and the seagulls belong to the sea so they co...

After reading countless reviews on here in appreciation of the friendly couple who own this hotel, we chose to stay for two nights for graduation. The room was very clean and quite comfortable with a reasonable sized bathroom, and the breakfast was second to none with all locally sourced ingredients.
It would appear that we caught the owners on an off week, however! Not only was the gentleman rather short with our party when it came to asking questions, we were asked if we could get around to paying half way through the stay; as if we were going to bolt. I understand his concerns, but after being so terribly rude, I supposed he would have been more subtle with his need for payment. We would have even paid on arrival if asked!
The lady who served us breakfast appeared as though we were a trouble to her also. I'm not sure if it's because we were out and about a lot and therefore not using their lounge and bar, but this B&B is for those who want to stay indoors, rather than a base of operations for a trip. It's such a shame we won't be returning, and can't recommend the hotel to other graduands.

stayed here last week to attend conference at the Spa Complex. It was the perfect location. 5 Minute walk to beach and a 10 minute walk into town. I stayed in a single room which was small but perfect for needs. The room could have done with a little TLC and modernising a bit, all it needed was a wall of colourful wallpaper with a matching cushion and curtains and paint the wardrobe and headboard white. But apart from that the bed was really comfort with excellent quality duvet and pillows and a lovely shower. Hotel is full of original period features throughout. Owners were lovely and a good sense of humour and the breakfast was fantastic, made to order with local produce. Never been to Scarborough before would definetly go again and wouldn't hesitate to stay here

A friendly B&B in a very nice, quiet part of Scarborough, a ten minute walk from the station. There are local shops just round the corner, and the Victorian cliff lift down to the beach is at the end of the road. My room was fairly small, but had everything you would expect, and a comfortable bed. Items used (coffee, biscuits, etc.) were replaced each day, and the room was cleaned daily. Breakfast is pre-ordered the day before, and the produce was first-rate. No nasty frozen sausages here! The bowl of fresh fruit salad was a lovely accompaniment to a bowl of cereal. I'd happily stay here again.

The Esplanade Gardens is a B&B close to the beach of Scarborough. The rooms are small but nice and the breakfast is great! You can choose from a few hot dishes which are made fresh and there is fresh fruit and cereal. The owner is very nice, we booked a room with two seperate beds and when we found out a mistake was made and we got a single bed he arranged two beds. The town of Scarborough is also very nice in the summer :)
