“Exceptionally clean and very hospitable proprietors”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2010

We decided at the last minute to go to Scarborough for the night and were struggling to find somewhere in one of the more well advertised hotels, however it couldnt have turned out better ! This is the first time we have stayed in a traditional guest house/B&B for years but we couldnt have asked for more !! We were welcomed by smiling faces and were led to a pretty spacious room with not only tea and coffee facilites but a range of good quality biscuits and some traditional sweets. The showers were good and there was a good range of toiletries which would be the envy of some of the larger corporate hotesl where we usually stay, There was aTV/DVD in the room and the owner even loaned us Avatar to watch when we returned worn out early from the beach. In the morning we were met with a fantastic quality breakfast with cooked options as well as fruit juices, cereals, fruit etc etc. My only (albeit very minor) criticism would be parking, we were fortunate and got a space nearby but all of the roads nearby have dozens of small hotels so it can be tricky getting somewhere to park close to the hotel.......however as I said this issue is around this area and not the hotel itself. Would highly recomment this hotel and we are all looking forward to going back :=)

Stayed for just one night with my wife and her parents for my father in laws 80th birthday. The hotel is situated near the esplanade with roadside parking freely available. David and Elizabeth are charming hosts, rooms are fairly small but spotlessly clean. The shower was nice and hot too. Breakfast was lovely and tasty with coffee refills on request. Very good value for money. We promised that we would come back another time and we will.

Olivers is a small B& B situated approx 1 min walk from the Italian Gardens and Spa and about 10 - 15 mins walk from the town centre, which we didn't mind as the views from the esplanade were great. The rooms are nicely decorated, immaculately clean and roomy. Tea & coffee making facilities with biscuits were provided and these were replenished daily. The folders in the room were packed with information on the area - a nice touch and very useful. Breakfast was cooked well (not too greasy ) and there were choices of cereals, fruit juices, fruit ,yoghurts and danish pastries plus other cooked choices if you didn't fancy the full English ! The hosts were very friendly and I would recommend this to anyone.
