Stayed just for one night after seeing the weather forecast which proved to be glorious. Did a quick search on the internet and found the Tudor House Hotel. We had three rooms in total and all were brilliantly clean and very good value. A lovely family run hotel, where the hosts are very attentive and the breakfast is great!. Would definitely go back and already recommended to friends and family. In a great location so we parked up the car and walked to the beach and the park.

There was a friendly greeting from the Yorkshire born owners.
The entrance was clean and tidy and had a nice feel to it. The owners dog was in the lounge area...a lovely friendly animal (dog like its owner!)
The room was clean and tidy and had a decent size bathroom with a shower and a plastic chair (see photos).
Our room had blown vinyl wallpaper on the wall and ceiling all painted magnolia which made me feel a little claustraphobic. The bed had a thin mattress, which initially didn't feel very comfortable. However we had a good nights sleep (maybe something to do with the fresh clean Scarborough air!)
The breakfast was very good. Freshly cooked and a good choice.
There are no sea view, we were overlooking a back street.
Location was one street back from the hotels and B&B's that were overlooking the North beach.
Parking was via permits in the street. This B&B charged £1 for a two day pass. However I noticed a lot of the local B&B's and hotel were offering this for free.
Scarborough is very competetively priced with a huge choice of accommodation advertising their prices on boards outside. If you go out of season as we did it might well be worth just turning up and taking a look at what is on offer. I would prefer to find a place close to the north beach as it's a little less noisy.
We only stayed for one night in the Tudor House B&B. It has 15 rooms and I wouldn't put anyone off staying here.
Scarborough itself is a traditional seaside resort on the edge of the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors. Its worth a trip to Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay...the journey there is beautiful.

Room Tip: Turn up on the day in Scarborough

We were looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful to spend the night after a friend's birthday party in Scarborough and the Tudor House Hotel fitted the bill perfectly.
We stayed in two single rooms whcih were both warm and clean with comfortable beds.
Breakfast was simple but well cooked and arrived quickly and we were pleased that there were plenty of tea and coffee making facilities.
The owners were friendly and helpful

Hotel was clean and staff friendly, to a point. We had to be at a meeting for 9am but breakfast was from 8.30 until 9. The staff agreed to a compromise of providing breakfast at 8.20 whcih seemd limited given that they began frying at 7.30 am the next morning. The room small and cold and unlike those shown on website, however it was ok and very clean. However the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in! Initially mu husband and I laughed at how incredibly thin and hard the mattress was, however waking the next morning with sore ribs from protruding springs depleted my sense of hunmour. Staff offered another room in the morning except after terrible bed and then being taken ill in the night we had to leave.
The real problem began when we were charged for 2 nights stay because we were told that the hotel would be charged by booking.com and we would have to claim for a refund from booking.com. We felt that a fair solution was to pay for our one night even though the bed was so bad, the room cold and we left at 8 a.m. without breakfast; certainly not for 2 nights.
Booking.com send intially 'sorry you are disappointed and please use us again'! After my reply they then said that the hotel had to give us a refund. Having notified everyone I knew to warn them of such treatment I heard from another people that this is common practice for booking.com
So I just wanted other people to be aware before using booking.com and staying at The Tudor house Hotel
Interestingly I wrote a fair review of the hotel which has not been displayed by booking.com which makes me wonder how much editing of the reviews takes place

Good location and rooms - Bar was very welcoming, and the prices were reasonable too! Breakfast was much better than you would usually get in this size of hotel, but above all i must compliment the 4 owners on their very friendly and welcoming service - an absolute delight, not often repeated elsewhere
