“Great weekend!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 March 2013

The Sands commands a great location directly on the sea front. Loxton House is furthest away from the road. All you hear is the crashing of he waves onto the beach. The apartments are furnished to a high standard, nothing has been forgotten. They are very secure with electronic access to internal doors and the car park where you receive a designated parking space. The staff are most helpful and act on your requests without delay. Whilst there were a number of young families around we never heard any noise indoors. All in all first class. We booked at an Italian restaurant on our first night CoGoni's Ristorante Italiano, 36 North Marine Road, Scarborough YO12 7PE, England which is Trip Advisors number one out of 178 restaurants. Must book!

Room Tip: Go for Sea Front in Loxton House. The higher the better.

Stayed in 2 bed non sea view as we always do to catch the afternoon sun and avoid the noise and the hussle and bustle of the front of the apartments.

Really comfy apartment with all mod cons a car parking space and the staff were brilliant.

Great location to explore Scarborough and Yorkshire Moors. Who needs a sea view!

This is our 3rd visit and believe me if I could I would be there every weekend!! Absolutely perfect for a family and don't feel the need to have to go out all the time. A real home from home with luxury. Every possible thing is thought of and is so much better value than staying in b&b or guesthouse. Hope to be back this year sometime!!

Room Tip: Ask for Room in Kepwick if any of your party struggle walking as I struggled last time with small ch...

Arrived for my birthday on 8th Feb for 2 nights after booking 3 days earlier. We decided to pay the extra for a sea view apt (2 bedrm) as it was a treat. We were met in the reception area by India who had phoned us the day before to check we were still going and what time we thought we'd arrive there. She was lovely, very helpful & friendly. She took us personally to our room 401 in the Lockton block and helped us with our luggage. The interior was gorgeous but my husband must have seen the slight disappointment on my face as the view was really a 'side' sea view and the head on view was of a wall on the block of apartments next door!
I didnt really want to cause a fuss but India was more than happy to have a look at what other apartments were available. She got the keys for 2 others and we settled in 102 in the same block. This view was worth the extra £s as you felt you were literally on the beach.
The supermarket below was handy for a few essentials although bread, tea/coffee, milk & jam are waiting for you on arrival in your apartment. The blue crush bar, was very good, especially if you dont want to walk far on February evenings & its child friendly!
Book your sea life tickets at the sands as its much cheaper than on the door! I think they also do other discounted tickets too.
Would definately go again, although from ,March/April there is a 3 night min stay, which puts up the cost and time off work. But obviously its so popular they can put this restriction on!

Room Tip: Make sure you get a full sea view if that's what you have paid for!

Just returned from another stay at The Sands and again it was fantastic! We are regular visitors here and cant fault the place. It has breathtaking views out to sea, and couldnt be handier for the beach - step out of the door and onto the sand - which goes down a treat with the children (also handy for a quick escape from the beach back to the room when the youngest falls over while paddling in the chilly north sea and starts to cry (when we stayed in Aug not Feb!!)). The rooms are always spotless, and there is always a nice welcome pack waiting including bread, milk, tea and coffee. There is a small shop under the main building which is very useful and sells most things, as well as a cafe and bar/diner.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice, but we prefer rooms in Lockton House as they have an even better sea view

Just booked the Sands again for a 4 night stay in August. We love the place, clean, spacious and with the beach, literally, on the doorstep. For four adults and a child the price is similar to that of 2 hotel rooms so although it certainly isn't cheap, it is good value.
Can't wait, fingers crossed for the weather!

First time in these apartments and we won't stay anywhere else now we have stayed here.
No more worrying about the state of the hotel or if we will be warm enough...
These apartments are 5* - bread, butter, milk, jam, tea, coffee in the room waiting for you. Very tastefully decorated, toasty warm, clean and well equipped.
Location perfect for long walks and lovely to get back to to relax and enjoy an evening in...also well equipped gym which we had to ourselves.
Can't wait to return!
