“Lovely B&B”
Reviewed 26 November 2011

We stayed for one night but would have liked to stay longer. The rooms are spotless the bed was very comfortable and the decor was lovely. The breakfast was varied and delicious.
Zoe was a great help and has done a wonderful job renovating the place.
It is only a very enjoyable short walk into town and there where planty of taxi's around is required.
I would definitely recommend it and if we are in Scarborough again will come back.

Room Tip: We had a room averlooking the road and the noise was not a problem.

We stayed for four nights at the end of July and could not fault it. The rooms are beautifully furnished and our en-suite bathroom was gorgeous. Everything was scrupulously clean and Zoe made us feel very welcome. The breakfasts, in particular, were varied and delicious. We felt Shorehouse was actually better than some of the luxury boutique hotels we have stayed in and will definitely return next year.

This was our second visit to Shore House. We are reluctant to be too positive in case it's full when we next return! The rooms are spotless and well provided for with drinks, biscuits, a range of shower accessories, magazines, comfotable seating. Fixtures and fittings are stylish and of a good quality. Breakfast reflected the emphasis on quality together with a wide and varied choice. Zoe could not have been more helpful, dealing with our ever changing breakfast orders (six of us) recommending eating places, walks etc, even providing a bottle of wine . The house is conveniently situated for town and sea front and we will certainly return next year.

We have just returned from a short stay at the Shorehouse and all I can say is everything was absolutely perfect. The rooms are large and airy, and beautifully decorated. Everything is spotlessly clean. Zoe is the perfect hostess, she is very friendly and helpful. She clearly works hard to maintain such a high standard throughout the hotel. Her breakfasts are superb and each day offer a wide variety of fresh produce.
Definitely a hotel to remember and return to.

Stayed two nights recently with my sister and our three children in three rooms. Lovely large bedrooms with very modern and immaculate bathrooms. The breakfasts were excellent, beautifully cooked, home-made potato/sweet potato rosti's. Fruit salad with fresh pineapple and strawberries, clearly a lot of thought and preparation gone into the planning of this. Zoe was very knowledgeable about the area (best parking in Whitby etc). We will definitely return - we really enjoyed our stay

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, including a choice of interesting 'light' options, well-appointed rooms, including a really lovely shower room. Handy for south cliff facilities(less than 5" walk) and for town centre (10" walk). Frequent bus service 3" walk away. Plenty of space for on-street parking.

Five stars all round - and no faults, not even niggles.

We had the first floor luxury en suite which has a large bay window that floods light into the room in the afternoon and evening, so that you can sit on the large settee and read in complete comfort, with a cup of tea in your hand - or possibly something stronger - which we did! There is ample storage and hanging space, and more than enough room to move around - it is a two or even three cat room (ie you can swing at least two cats simultaneously, and not knock either of them out).
The bathroom is quite large and very well fitted out with room for everything you want to put down - and smellies provided. ... it is also clean enough to eat your dinner off the floor.

The whole house is beautifully proportioned, with high ceilings and immaculate decoration, and looks enticing from the street, where parking is free and readily available. It is in a terrace and we did hear a very small amount of noise from next door, but only during the day - nights were quiet - and dark, thanks to roman blinds as well as curtains. If fact, so dark that we needed a torch for night time visits..... Its location is good too, everything is within walking distance (we are 70 and 60), and while the walk down to the town is lovely, so are the lifts back up. We asked a policeman for directions home one night after a meal out at The Black Cat (recommended) - and he gave us a lift in his van... you really cannot ask for more!!

But back to Shorehouse. Breakfast was well thought out; with all the usual, plus fresh fruit and the best of all, d-i-y toast. I don't know about you, but I want my toast WHEN I want it, as TOASTED as I want it - and with my own choice of bread, and not as usually happens elsewhere - cold and soggy when you at last get around to it, and white when you asked for brown.

We chose this b&b as Shorehouse is one of the closest to the venue where our daughter was involved with a play at The National Student Drama Festival, and we made the right choice. Long live d-i-y toast, and thank you Zoe, not just for the toast, but for a lovely, clean, fresh b&b - an excellent stay!
