“Fantastic place! Throughly recommended!!”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor we chose Sunningdale, and we're really happy we did!!
From the moment we stepped inside, we were made really welcome by Judy, David, (and the lovely red-head, Poppy!)
We were offered a drink upon arrival, and were made to feel right at home.
There's a lovely choice of what to have for breakfast, which you can change from day to day, and good sized portions, too!!
We were booked to have a room overlooking the rear, but we were given Room 12, a family room overlooking the front, and Peashome park, for no additional cost. The beds are immaculate and really comfy, with fresh towels, with tea & coffee replenished daily.
The location is perfect, just off the main road, and within walking distance of Scarborough centre.

David and Judy, we were very impressed, definitely booking again next year, and already looking forward to it!

Stayed for a five night break. Judy and David were perfect hosts. On our arrival, David took our cases to our room while Judy gave us an enjoyable cup of coffee and biscuits informing us of all we needed to know about our stay. The spacious room was spotless with lovely crisp white bed linen and soft white towels. The guest house was in a prime location overlooking Peasholm Park and close to many amenities. Breakfast was excellent, well cooked with a good choice. Altogether we had a fantastic holiday. This was due, in no small part, to our wonderful hosts. (The good weather was a welcome bonus ) You may have tried the rest, now try the best. We will be back.

Sunningdale improves every time we visit. If you want somewhere to stay which is high quality, with very pleasant owners and super breakfasts, in superb rooms at very reasonable prices, and with a long list of clientelle who return time after time - this is the place!
Unbeatable guest house in a prime and picturesque position, we can't praise it enough

Room Tip: Tell Judy what you want and you will get it!

We found Sunningdale on TripAdvisor & booked a 3 night stay.
It was our Honeymoon, we'd got married on 29 April which is our Anniversary & we wanted somewhere special to stay.
The reviews looked good & having stayed there, they don't do it enough justice.
I booked directly with Judy, who was very friendly over the phone & explained it was our Honeymoon & she upgraded us to the front large family room, which impressed us.
We were met by Judy & after taking us to our room & letting us unpack, we then had coffee & biscuits with her in the guest lounge. This was a huge room & was immaculate. Judy was very interested to hear about our wedding & even sat & looked at our photos on our phones. By the time we left the lounge, we felt we'd made a good friend in Judy.
Our room was immaculate & had a double bed & a single bed & overlooked the entrance to Peasholme Park. There were fresh flowers & Thorntons Chocolates waiting for us, which was a very nice surprise. Our en-suite was immaculate also & had bottles of shampoo, shower gel, a tub of cotton wool balls & cotton buds & a stack of individually sealed plastic cups on a shelf.
There was more than plenty of wardrobe space with matching hangers & extra bedding if we needed it. The bed was very comfy & the pillows fresh, not smelly like other places we've stayed in. Each morning our room was cleaned & the tea, coffee, sugar, milk & biscuits re-stocked. We couldn't fault anything in the room & were very impressed with it.
The dining room was impressive & each room had a table numbered to match it. You could help yourself to a large choice of individually boxed cereals, orange & cranberry juice & a platter of fresh fruit. You are asked the night before to full in your cooked breakfast request sheet & there is a box in reception to place this.
Our cooked breakfast was served as per our request along with a rack of toast, which you are asked your preference on what bread. You choose what hot drink you want & we opted for fresh coffee, to which a large Glass Bodum arrived full of a very rich hot fresh coffee. I'd requested grapefruit as my starter & this arrived beautifully displayed in a glass dish with a cherry on top. After we'd eaten our large cooked breakfast, we were asked if we'd like anymore toast & this was provided swiftly. There was a platter of individual jams to choose from for your toast.
Judy & David served our breakfast & were very friendly & stayed for a chat with us after we'd eaten. Judy doesn't fry her food, it's either grilled or boiled, which is the healthy way we prefer our food.
We got to meet their gorgeous Red Setter, Poppy, after breakfast & had a long fuss with her. She's the most well behaved dog I've ever seen & is part of the family you are made to feel part of.
David recommended a couple of places to drive to, after listening to what we wanted to do & we enjoyed his choices.
In the dining room, there is a sign up saying "You arrive here as our guests & we hope you leave as our friends" & this is defiantly true.
Our stay was the most enjoyable we've ever had on our travels, which include travelling around Australia a few times.
We were more than impressed with everything that is Sunningdale Guest House & will certainly be going back to stay with Judy, David & Poppy. We visit Scarborough a lot & we've now found the perfect place to stay.
We brought away with us some of their Business Cards & have given some out, to which 3 lots of our friends are booking there this summer.
We can't recommend staying here enough. I'm OCD about cleanliness & I've never been as relaxed as I was staying here.
If you want somewhere to stay in Scarborough, then here is the perfect place. You won't find anywhere else as immaculate & friendly as here.We couldn't fault anything in the room & were very impressed with it.
Well done Judy & David
Luv From
Lou & Simon xxx

Stayed two nights 15/16 May 2014. The owners Judy and David were very welcoming, friendly and were full of good advice about Scarborough and the surrounding area. The room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed and the full English breakfast was excellent. The guest house is in an excellent location, right opposite Peasholme Park and it is perfect for exploring all of Scarborough's attractions
