“Fantastic B&B. We'll be back!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2014 via mobile

Just come back from a fantastic 2 night stay with our 10 month old baby. Jan and Ed couldn't do enough to make us feel at home and our little girl loved being here. The breakfast was amazing too. We stayed in the Seaside room which is ideal for families. Lovely & clean. We'll definitely be back.

From the moment of our arrival we were treated as special guests. There was absolutely nothing to complain about (and my husband loves to moan about something!). We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and couldn't recommend it highly enough.

What a fantastic place to stay! We booked St Michaels because of their Trip Advisor score - and we weren't disappointed. Jan and Ed are wonderful hosts - they made us feel welcome the moment we arrived - they are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. This guest house is beautifully renovated - nicely decorated and clean and tidy. We occupied the family room at the rear, which was bright and airy! We came back to this part of the coast after 30 years away - this is a fantastic base for visits to Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby and inland to Pickering (the Hole of Horcum is a must, a spectacular glacial feature on the Pickering/Whitby road). The breakfast is legendary and rightly so - sets you up for the whole day, didn't need a lunch, excellent quality and nicely cooked! (Jan's Mum is also part of this wonderful team). Jan also knows the best eateries and is happy to advise! Great place, great stay and great service, will definitely come back!

Room Tip: Give Jan a call before you book!

Jan and Ed are simply the loveliest couple and their hospitality is second to none. Ed was even kind enough to offer to drive us to the wedding to save a taxi fare! Their B&B is immaculate, welcoming and is incredibly good value for money (frankly they could charge a lot more for what they offer!). The breakfast can only be described as epic. Would thoroughly recommend and will definitely return. In fact we can't wait to return.

Stayed here for just one night and was amazed by the excellent quality of our stay. The rooms are so clean and comfortable. The welcome so friendly we immediately felt at home. We had heard about the excellent breakfasts but nothing prepared us for the bellybuster Jan served up it was amazing. Would we go back? To right we will, we have already booked and are taking friends . Thanks so much for your hospitality.

Thank you Jan & Ed for all your care & attention. U really add that extra sparkle to our wonderful stay once again. Lovely company, a proper tonic. Cheers Jan for the good advice on where to go for a great meal out for the birthday party. We all enjoyed our lovely meal. All our rooms were perfect and spotless as usual, u think of everything and thank you for Bens treats :-) We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else & changed our date of arrival so we could stay with you again. Outstanding breakfast Ed. Proper plate full perfectly cooked. See u again soon x

Room Tip: We've been lucky enough to stay in every room, they're all 'spot on', perfection
