This was our first trip to the Scarborough area and we chose to stay 2 nights at St Michael’s in early May, based the strength of the reviews and the reasonable price.
It is difficult to come up with something original to write having read several of the other reviews but I can certainly confirm St Michael’s lives up to its deserved reputation. The owners Ed and Jan have created a very clean, very comfortable, well-appointed and friendly guesthouse, serving delicious, high quality breakfasts and all that coupled with a genuine ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude – it is a winning formula.
St Michael’s is nicely located within a short walking distance of Peasholm Park, the seafront and several pubs and restaurants and all in all is an excellent base to explore the area. Robin Hood’s Bay is particularly nice and a trip on the North Yorkshire Moors railway is definitely recommended, if you like railways and steam trains of course!
There is not much more to add except a simple thank you both for your friendliness and hospitality and making our weekend away that much more enjoyable – shame it is was over so quickly.
