“Great location”
Reviewed 3 February 2014

The travelodge is in an ideal location for visiting the beach and seafront arcades. It is also close to the shops and Brunswick shopping centre. It has a very modern feel in the lobby area and the bar and is a relaxed atmosphere. Rooms are slightly dusty and we had to ask for extra pillows as only one per person is provided. Towels could be better too. Very noisy from guests in the hotel moving around and shouting on upper floors.

The hotel location was brilliant for what we wanted. Got to our room it smelled bad and it was freezing. We thought maybe later that evening it would warm up with the radiators. We went out and when we came back in the room you could see your breath in so we reported it and were given a little heater to plug in to take the chill out of the air. That was bad enough but then we found out our toliet didnt flush properly and kept blocking so eventually we got rooms changed.
Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was really nice.

Thank you for your review Joanne R. Our housekeeping staff are expected to notice any unpleasant smells in a room and we would have expected your room to be aired our thoroughly before your arrival. Our heaters are expected to be fully functional so it is regrettable to learn this was not the case, we can confirm that we do have a number of spare blankets and duvets at reception should you need them. We would also require our bathroom facilities to be in good working order so we are truly sorry you were allocated a room with broken items. We would like to take this opportunity to investigate the concerns that you have raised, please use the contact us button on our website to provide us with more information which will allow us to offer a resolution.

After reading previous bad reviews, we were very apprehensive about our 2 night stay over the new year. However, we were highly satisfied with a lovely sea view room. It was warm and comfortable, lovely shower, - nothing to criticise. Overall a very enjoyable stay, will definitely be coming back next year. The staff, particularly Dale on reception, were very helpful and friendly. A very satisfied couple from Castleford. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Stayed at this hotel before, always warm, clean and welcoming professional staff. Only disappointment was the wifi that was provided by an outside company. Would highly recommend adding a breakfast :)

Perfect location right on the top overlooking the sea.Excellent friendly service, lovely warm rooms and friendly staff, Great food too. 5 minute walk into town centre and 5 minute walk to seafront. Parking 2 minutes away. Excellent place to stay with friends or couples.

I am surprised this hotel has received such bad reviews! I don’t know if the previous hotels reviews have carried over...
Room- The price was reasonable and we got a lovely sea view room that was quite small but clean. I think the TV should be bigger (this is one of those locations where people are going to be out during the day but in on an evening because there’s nothing else to do). The bed was comfortable but there were no side tables just a small hole in the wall big enough for a phone. I also think a plug socket is good to have at the side of the bed.

Car parking- if you get there early you can park on the square outside the hotel you pay up to 6pm and then it’s free to 9am. We didn’t want to have to get up too early to pay for it so we parked around the corner in a multi story car park ... on the mini roundabout. It was £10 for 24hours.

location- close to everything

All in all i give this place 3/5 wasn’t amazing but if you fancy a cheap night at the coast i would definitely recommend it

Room Tip: we were in room 423 and the view was fab!
