Room was very stuffy and smelt strongly of bleach. There were four windows in that room .... only one had minimal opening. Bathroom flooring heavily stained. Windows were disgustingly filthy. The bed had seen better days. This hotel does not have its own parking and that in itself was a nightmare. We managed to find a car park in the day but at night time when we came back from our evening out with family and friends we could not find anything at all ..... so we checked out and travelled home through the night reaching home in the early hours. We were never so pleased to be home as at that moment .... we can honestly say that this is the worst Travelodge we have ever been in.

Great Hotel in a great location if your stay is in Central Scarborough.

Has great see views & is a very clean & no frills hotel, just a shame we had to pay the £7.95 each on top for the breakfast in the morning, when I thought it was included in the early booking discount !

We had a budget break. Everything was perfectly adequate except the size of the room which was really above average as it was large and spacious. The view was just unbelievably great...one of the best I've ever had as we could watch the rolling and crashing waves, check out the seagulls and people watch those staying at the Grand. The mattress wasn't great but it was OK and the bedding was clean, the carpet was clean and it was in good decorative order. It is clearly an old building which means it is full of character...complete with slow drains and quirky sloping floors but the thing that made this for me was the fantastic staff. They were so genuinely helpful and friendly you couldn't fault them.

Room Tip: everyone must want the front of the hotel overlooking the sea

I have stayed here many times over the last year. I went to university in Scarborough so for my graduation in July 2013, my mother, sister and I stayed in this hotel. It is what it is for the price, value and cleanliness of the room. It was very loud out the front with constant police and drunken brawls occurring but as it is in the centre of town you kind of expect that sort of thing. I have also stayed here in September and January with a few uni friends for a visit back in Scarborough. You can have more than one key for the room which is useful and as check out time is 12pm, it gives you plenty of time to sleep off the hangover before attempting to drive/get the train home! Good value for money, especially when you book early and get a cheaper deal!

Having read the reviews we were rather sceptic but what a fab hotel. Friendly staff, our room was spotless and huge, no problem with noise and fantastic night sleep.
Its an old Victorian building so its going to have its quirks but we will be back as fantastic position for the town

Great location and should have been a really good hotel but badly maintained inside and outside. Room had a hole in the wall, window didn't stay open, bathroom light took ages to come on, no bath, and noise from inside and out was so loud. Walls/windows must be really thin. Windows were dirty and general feel of the hotel was run down.
