“Simple Needs”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2014

It did what it was meant to do! It was clean and basic. The room was uncomfortably warm though. When we decided to go to the bar for a drink there was no-one servicing we did wait for a while but then decided (due to waiting so long to be served) to go to the Brewers Fayre around the corrner. Not sure if this is common to Travelodge but no phones in the rooms to call reception etc, you have to use your mobile phone to call for any assistance. It was just somewhere to rest our weary heads at the end of a long day!

We liked:
+ The location
+ The friendly staff who brought us room service, even though the hotel doesn't offer room service
+ Good sized room
+ Cleanliness
+ Loading bay for arrival and departure

We didn't like:
- No parking on-site
- No lie-ins. You have to be out to your car on the street by 9am to buy a ticket for it. Not the fault of the hotel, rather the local council, but still something to consider when staying here. Parking outside is busy, and I had to park in an unlit carpark near the casino 5 minutes walk away.
- Labyrinth of multi-level corridors made getting our pram in and out of the hotel difficult.
- Noisy seagulls which woke us all up at 4:30am.
- Nightclubs are some distance away, but we were kept awake by noisy revellers.

The Scarborough Travelodge is excellently situated, in the town centre and overlooking the sea and the harbour - views which are charming and delightful. The staff were friendly and helpful. An unexpected bonus is that the bar and food is available 24 hours. My wife and I shared an excellent pizza (which I recommend). 30 minutes of free wif fi internet are provided. The bed felt comfortable and well sprung. There are several car parks nearby. Of course, Travelodge is not a luxury hotel - but if the rate is good it can be excellent value - and at the Scarborough Travelodge you can be sure of a genuinely warm welcome.

Room Tip: you may like to ask for a sea view if one is available.

Very good position, helpful staff, old buildiing has been modernised feels a safe place, great for budget family breaks popular with a very wide variety of people types, from family to business to wedding guests to weekend night outers, No noise at all a good nights sleep no disruption, medium firmness bed, Right in the best position for going out on the sea front great for a family we paid 52. was worth that not much more though. everthing on hand and the grand over the road has old style entertinment bingo etc.. ill be going back you cant get cheaper for the value in scarborough. Iff you want posh pay more and go to a 4 star but we all know travelodge offer a budget option so bear that in mind its perfectly fine ....exterior is old fashioned interior modern hope that helps its and honest review.

Room Tip: 4th floor quiet

The staff were very polite,. The hotel is dated and in poor condition, the bedroom floor crecked, the bed was very uncomfortable, the food was apppalling, the cutlery was dirty as were the dishes at breakfast. The corridor doors banged all night.
