Central, All you need for a cheap value for money stay (we took advantage of a Sunday Night Offer @ £17.00 per room) Breakfast good, rooms a little on the warm side, overall great stay. Parking at NCP carpark £6.50 for 24 hours few mins walk away (North Street)

stayed at travelodge nationwide and been well satisfied, but we wont be staying here again. the last time we stayed we paid £10 extra for early booking in , then had to wait anyway because our allocated room was being cleaned. we eventually got in the room only to find the toilet full to the brim , blocked. just shows how much cleaning had been done.
Idiots that we are,we booked again . This time all was reasonable apart from the filthy windows, until we were leaving. Having time to spare we stripped off the bed sheets / duvet covers etc to find no mattress protector, a badly stained mattress and duvet. looked like coffee stains at best'
I`m being restrained in my assessment , the staff are very good, but the place is a dump.

We are sorry to learn of your disappointment ericcheetham. When a guest purchases our early check in service we would expect these rooms to be available from 12pm so it is regrettable to learn of the lapse in service. We do expect all of our rooms to be up to great standards so we are to learn of the issues you have raised with your room. We are however pleased to confirm that we are currently undergoing a full refurbishment programme where all of our hotels will receive a brand new refresh; we are working hard to achieve this. We’d like to be able to contact you to find a resolution. In order for us to do this please could you visit our website and use the Contact Us button to tell us more and when doing so please indicate you have left a TripAdvisor review.

Let me start this by saying i have never said a bad word about Travelodge before having stayed in numerous around the UK but this hotel does need some work, went to reception 3 times during my stay and walked away twice due to no one being in attendance or not attending during my 5 minutes waiting, only curtains in my room facing the grand hotel, could do with some sort of secondary screen, the bathroom had a very bad smell, the windows looked they had not been cleaned in a while the cleanliness was not up to the usual Travelodge standard ,over all disappointed.

We are truly sorry to learn of your disappointment with your stay thebadgerSheffield. We would expect our staff members to be fully available and maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service at all times. Furthermore, our cleaning staff are required to routinely check all our rooms and to notice any smells. We use travelodge often in various places and I have to say this is the only one I have had trouble with, stayed here 3 times and twice we have had problems with room allocation very wary of using this travelodge again, I do have to stress all other travelodges we have used have been superb

rooms basic - but clean, location good [opposite the Grand hotel] the décor in the rooms needs looking at as a matter of urgency - this was probably reflected in price we paid...ask for sea view room if available...staff were fine. plenty of facilities [ie food alternatives] within easy walking distance.

It did what it was meant to do! It was clean and basic. The room was uncomfortably warm though. When we decided to go to the bar for a drink there was no-one servicing we did wait for a while but then decided (due to waiting so long to be served) to go to the Brewers Fayre around the corrner. Not sure if this is common to Travelodge but no phones in the rooms to call reception etc, you have to use your mobile phone to call for any assistance. It was just somewhere to rest our weary heads at the end of a long day!

We liked:
+ The location
+ The friendly staff who brought us room service, even though the hotel doesn't offer room service
+ Good sized room
+ Cleanliness
+ Loading bay for arrival and departure

We didn't like:
- No parking on-site
- No lie-ins. You have to be out to your car on the street by 9am to buy a ticket for it. Not the fault of the hotel, rather the local council, but still something to consider when staying here. Parking outside is busy, and I had to park in an unlit carpark near the casino 5 minutes walk away.
- Labyrinth of multi-level corridors made getting our pram in and out of the hotel difficult.
- Noisy seagulls which woke us all up at 4:30am.
- Nightclubs are some distance away, but we were kept awake by noisy revellers.
