“My short break”
Reviewed 30 June 2013

Having booked a couple of months ago I was looking forward to my mini break .The hotel was spotless , a very warm welcome on arrival . Kay could not have been more helpful if she had tried . Breakfast was very good [ toast a little to hard ] that was a minor matter , when I am up that way again , I would not hesitate to return . Good luck Kay and Dom you deserve to be successful best wishes Dave and Shirley .

Room Tip: sea view would be best

Wow! We booked at the last minute for a short stayaway weekend at what proved to be probably the best hotel/guest house we have stayed in for a long, long time. After searching online for a couple of hours, The Ramleh kept popping up as a perfect choice. After a short phone call to check on availability, we were advised that, because of the cricket festival, bookings were at a premium. However, Kay was prepared to offer us a family room as a double, at the normal double room rate (how good is that?) Upon arrival we were greeted by Kay and shown to what can only be described as one of the cleanest and most tastefully decorated hotel we have ever stayed in. Although not a sea view, Room 4 has a pleasant outlook, with the cricket scoreboard just visible. With an exceptional 'Full English' breakfast, and a 'Nothing is too much trouble' attitude, I can thoroughly recommend The Ramleh as a perfect base for a very relaxing holiday. Well done Kay & Don, keep up the good work. PS. We were even lucky enough to be staying in the same hotel as the legendary Dickie Bird, a true Gentleman. Go on, give it a try, you know you want to!

Room Tip: Go for a seaview if you can. Possibly the best seaviews in God's own county. Sorry no photos, ne...

A little jewel of a family hotel over looking the north bay, Kay the landlady gave us a really warm welcome, the rooms are nice and bright and spotlessly clean, could not fault breakfast at all, and would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a stay in Scarborough, Thank you Kay we will be back.

Overall a cosy little guest house overlooking north bay. We had a double seaview room on the second floor which was rather small (including the 'en suite' which was tiny) However, we were there just the one night so was ok. Breakfast was good, although we had to rush due to having to catch an early train. Overall, if we were to visit Scarborough again (probably not for a long time) we'd stay again.

A lovely building. Overall a great stay. Breakfast was absolutely A1! Couldn't fault it. And the lovely landlady couldn't do enough for us. Very helpful & pleasant. We managed to park on the street & she gave us a free permit, so it cost us nothing all weekend. It was all very clean & the bed was comfy.
However, the room was on the 3rd floor & whilst that wasn't a problem, it unfortunately was very cold. We had an extra blanket, but the heating was switched off after 9am & as the hot water was off too I never got chance to have a shower. It was March & freezing outside & in & I never got warm all weekend. The landlady did say she would have put the immersion heater on, but it was just a trek down to the ground floor even if we had realised. The only other shame was the en suite which was like an ice box & smelled absolutely awful of sewerage when the shower was on.

Just back from the Easter weekend staying at this hotel and cannot recommend it enough. The host Kay couldn't do enough for us, she was very informative and on hand for any questions we had, she supplied maps and money off vouchers for attractions which came in very useful. The breakfasts were VERY filling and tasty, the ingredients were good quality and cooked perfectly. The bar prices were very reasonable and the residents lounge very comfortable, just like being at home, it was opened just for us and the fire was put on making it a very relaxing place, special mention from our son to Billy the white tiger!! The family room we had was spacious and immaculately clean. If we stay in Scarborough again this hotel would be our first choice. Thanks for a lovely stay!
