Having been directed here by Travelodge (see other reviews) who had given our pre booked, pre payed room to someone else, we arrived to find that staff were having not only top make up our room (I would have expected this at short notice) but were also having to clean the room. The hotel is accessed by a steep flight of stairs from the front door to reception, there are then flights of stairs to all the rooms. Great if you are fit and healthy but not so good if you are disabled as I and my daughter are.
The reception area/room was old, tired and dirty, this did not bode well. The room, when we finally got into it, was cramped, smelled of pine disinfectant and again old and tired looking with peeling, bubbling walpaper, various areas of mould and just tatty.
The bathroom was in a similar state with bits of dado rail coming away from the wall with damp and mould patches. The hot water took an age to arrive with the tap turned on full.
I could not recommend strongly enough thatv you stay away from this place!!
I would not have chosen to stay here the whole place had the air of a very tired DSS hostelMore
