Went to bryherstones for a family lunch, the atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were good. The service was as you'd expect in a pub. The food was delicious so were the drinks. Reasonably priced and set in a nice quiet location on the outskirts of cloughton. Would definitely come again and really enjoyed the experience the pub gave us.

Great place for lunch. Traditional pub serving straightforward but well cooked food. We had chicken in peppercorn sauce and gammon. The chicken came with a good selection of fresh vegetables and the gammon was accompanied by fresh pineapple, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes - plus chips and peas. The staff are friendly - what's not to like? Puds are also good

Called at the Bryherstones after a recommendation, were simply looking for some wholesome pub food and we were not in any way disappointed. We were welcomed by the owner Paul who clearly ruins the business with a skilled and shrewd eye. The place is very clean, welcoming and gives a most homely feel. Log fires were burning when we arrived on a Sunday evening about 7pm. The beer selection was of real hand pulled ales and were of an excellent standard. Paul, described the food as “good, honest grub” and that is just what it was. Good valued, fresh, well cooked and plentiful, I hate getting a minute plate of vegetables but we received more than enough to fill our Yorkshire pallets. My wife and I have to return to Scarborough this time next year for an annual event and we shall certainly be visiting these premises again- many thanks.

We were staying at a near by hotel and decided to try this place out as we were passing.

Arrived at around 6.15 on a Saturday night. We hadn't booked but they had space as we were early.

My partner and I both had pate to start and the "famous" steak pie.

Both of the courses were excellent. The pate was homemade and very tasty. The only thing I could suggest is that the toast was a tad too crispy, when you tried to butter it it just broke off. Not a big deal, but worth noting.

The steak pie was wonderful. Well cooked veg and chunky chips accompanied what was a delicious pie.

It came smothered in gravy and was pure meat - no kidney (which a lot of places wrongly add and still call a steak pie).

The welcome was friendly. Service was excellent and very quick.

Would most certainly visit again.

We stayed in Ravenscar this week and visited the Bryherstone's twice in that time. The food is fantastic, coked to order, hot and tasty. They have proper chips! Specials boards offers alternatives to the very comprehensive main menu and are very good value. We highly recommend the burger with brie and the catch of the day! We couldn't manage a pudding however, but they looked fabulous.

The staff are friendly and welcoming, offering samples of beers that you may not have tasted before (Yorkshire lager was a new one for me and, as a normal non-lager drinker, very impressive.)

We had tried to eat here on a previous visit to the area in August, but couldn't get in to the car park, it was so busy and the road is quite narrow to park on, so be warned!

We will certainly return when we are next up that way and would recommend it highly on our experience.
