The hotel is beautyful and the surroundings wonderful but its the staff that make it wonderful. We arrived without a booking tired after driving all day. When they gave us a room we could afford and then we heard them quitetly upgrade it "we will not fill it anyway" we herd them say ro each other. The romm had a four poster bed and a wonderful view. Dinner and breakfast was really good and we left with a warm feeling. Thank you!

I stayed at the Wrea Hotel with my mum for her birthday and we had a lovely time. The food was fab and the staff and guests staying there were really friendly. We will definately stay there again! If you want a quiet place to chill this is the place to go. It's only 5 minutes away from Scarborough too so handy for the beach.

We booked a 2 night break using the Travel Zoo deal and it really did turn out to be fantastic value for money. We were looking forward to getting away from it all and didn't we just! Being met by three swallow chicks in their nest above the front door really made it special from the start. A lovely cosy room, with fabulous views across open countryside. Just what the doctor ordered. Anne managed the place extremely well, looking after our needs, and remembering who we were. Clive was excellent fun, and if you go, make sure you ask him to challenge you to his screwy puzzle, but I'm sure he will anyway. All the staff we encountered were very attentive and extremely friendly. Food, both for breakfast and the evening meal were excellent as included in the deal. Tea, cakes and biscuits in the afternoon were an added bonus. There are also plenty of places to visit in the area. All too soon we had to leave, by this time we could just about navigate the passageways and stairs almost faultlessly. But neither of us could fault our stay, having great conversation with our fellow guests and banter with the staff. We will probably be back sometime.

Went here as part of a weekend deal. We were treated very well and nothing was too much trouble for the attentive and friendly staff. The food both breakfast and dinner was delicious and service at the table attentive. We slept in 2 different rooms, both of which we found clean and comfortable, if just a little dated (1980's decor). However the views onto the gardens were superb and the showers more than adequate and beds comfortable.

Room Tip: If you have an option, ask for a room with a garden view.

My wife and I have just returned from a two day break and had a splendid time at the Wrea Head. We took advantage of their two night offer and it came up to our expectations. We found the hotel in a nice location, and very convenient for visiting the area and North Yorks Nat' Park. The staff were very efficient and helpful, the dining room comfortable and the food delightful, both plentiful and with an interesting menu. The public rooms are spacious and pleasant and offer an opportunity to relax. We had one minor problem with our allocated room # 20 which was being over heated by an exposed hot water service pipe running around the room at skirting board level which probably needs to be lagged and enclosed in a hermetically sealed trunking, however, we were offered an alternative, which was most appreciated. we would recommend this hotel and will return again in time. There were no disappointments !

This was a wedding present from my Brother and Sister in law a two day break following our wedding. It was the perfect present as it provided us with a relaxing and indulgent setting.
The Hotel staff and manager provided excellent service throughout our stay, very friendly and always looking to help.
The actual hotel is set in amazing grounds, the views are fantastic and we were lucky to have the weather to be able to enjoy playing croquet on the lawns (we gave it a go and really enjoyed it). We had a little wonder around but imagine you could spend a good afternnon exploring the grounds to the full.
We had a standard room in respect of the hotel but it was huge with a King Size bed and a lounge area with a sofa. The colours were quiet loud and not really mine or my wifes taste but even so the bedroom was fantastic. The slight negative would be the bathroom, it was a little dated and quiet small not perfect but only a slight floor.
The best thing about the Hotel and the reason above all else would be the food, every meal we ate was delightful it is the first place we have stayed where my wife has both liked the look of the menu, found it difficult to choose due to options and then really enjoyed the meal.
Overall I can not say that we will definitely revisit as it was a treat, the service, bedroom, grounds and especially food were fantastic the bathroom in the rooms are pretty small and check bar prices as a pint will cost £4.50. I would definitely reccommend if your looking for a relaxing stay away fro reality.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 4, a standard room which had wonderful views and was of a really good size.

I booked the hotel for a two night stay for my mums 70th birthday, we had a truely fantastic weekend, the suite my parents were given was amazing, a real nice surprise for them. May we thank Anne and her excellent team of staff for there hospitality, nothing was too much trouble and you all made us feel so welcome, the service was second to none. We had dinner on both evenings, the food was absolutely devine. We shall look forward to staying again in the near future. Julia & Paul McCormack.
