“Two days of peace and tranquility in luxury.”
Reviewed 18 January 2010

Just returned from two days away. The hotel is a beautiful old building in fantastic grounds. The service is friendly. The food fantastic.
Anna, the manageress, is delightful and nothing is too much bother to her.
We wil definitely be going back. Will be interested to see it in the summer - everywhere was recovering from the very heavy snowfall whilst we were there.

This is our 4th stay at The Wrea Head Hotel and as usual were made extremely welcome from the start. Good food, quiet drink or three in a relaxing period atmosphere. Who could want more?
Special mention to Ann the hotel manageress who excels and ensures you a most enjoyable break. Many thanks!
See you next year.

Very grand hotel, staff attentive, rooms good overall but little things like a used cotton wool bud left on edge of bathroom floor when we entered the room and still there the next day after room cleaned. Quiet a few cobwebs where the cleaning staff don't look up in all areas and the chef can't cook scrambled egg even after paying a large supplement !!!
However would return for another visit !

My husband and I and our close friends spent a lovely New Year break at Wrea Head, near Scarborough. The hotel has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff cannot do enough to help. The food is excellent and their dinner menu was varied during our three days. The New Year celebrations were spot on - good food, good company + dancing. On New Years Eve we visited Whitby - very cold - so were glad to return to a welcoming afternoon tea in the hotel library. When the snow came down on New Years Day, we were happy to stay by the hotel fire. The hotel is very well managed. We will return.

This is the second time we have visited Wrea Head and it is still as amazing. The place itself is set in beautiful surroundings and is breath taking. The food is amazing, cooked to perfection, as you would expect from a well known restaurant. Being in out mid twenties, we found Wrea Head the perfect get away for a bit of relaxation. The staff are very friendly and most helpful, we found the service very personal and couldnt have wished for better. We will definatly be returning and would advise anyone to visit. It is a short journey from Scarborough and makes for a lovely short break away.

We booked for the New Years Eve 2 night special a litlle late and availabilty was limited, but "The Suite" was available, so we splashed out and took it.
Well the snow had well and truely come when we arrived to a very warm welcome from Anne the general manager, We were shown to our suite, a massive bathroom with wet area, television, big bath, a lounge with big flatscreen TV and a bedroom with a further TV, all situated near reception so no stairs to climb.
Well things just went from good to better, beautiful countryside surrounded the hotel, powdered with snow. Open fires in the main rooms, I felt like the landed Gentry.
I could go on and on, but the hotel itself was only surpassed by the service given. Whenever we turned round Anne was there asking if we wanted coffee, tea, Christmas cake or pies, wine. The 5 course New Years Eve banquet was superb, the Hotel is not large and I think there were 55 residents and non-residents dining. None of the all sit down at the same time to be served with food that had been sitting around for a while, the service was well paced and the food came fresh and hot and tasted delicious.
I could go on and on, but no need to I hope I have given an insight into how good this hotel is. So thanks to Anne and her team, we will be back.

Looking for the perfect Christmas break, 'Reservations' recommended the 'Wrea Head.' Thankyou!

Anne, the General Manageress and her staff, in a most friendly and professional manner, made us feel a special part of a traditional country house Christmas party.

Andrew, the chef, deserves high praise for his Christmas menu. The food was exceptional!
