We picked up a real bargain from Travelzoo for a 2 night stay including evening meal at this charming old country house hotel in Yorkshire. Everything about this place is amazing - the staff could not do enough for us and were so friendly, the room was lovely, and the food was amazing! Definately 5* treatment at a 3* price !

This is our first stay at the Wrea Head Hotel and we were really impressed with everything about it. The public rooms were most attractive and made ultra welcoming with open log fires, ...really appreciated as it did nothing but snow during our stay. We particularly liked sitting in the library, with its comfortable sofas and hundreds of books. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and beautifully decorated with stylish Christmas decorations, creating a lovely atmosphere. Our stay was made extra pleasant by all the staff being very polite, helpful and efficient. The restuarant was first class, we thoroughly enjoyed the evening meal and the full English breakfast.
Yes we would recommend, and we intend to return ourselves in the Spring

Recently we (my wife, 6 month old son and I) were caught in the snow storm in Scarborough. Having been rescued by a man with a 4x4 he took us to this hotel believing this was where we had booked. It turns out he delivered us to the wrong hotel and we were booked into a sister hotel a few miles away ... it was cold, snowy and 8 pm at this point. We went into the Wrea and they were wonderful. The manager (Anne) calmed us down (and we needed it), rang the other hotel, sorted us out a family room, swapped reservations, weekend deal and deposit from the other hotel, had our baggage taken to our rooms and arranged for drinks and rooms service to be brought to us. The next day there were staff at 7am in the car park being supervised by Anne clearing snow from the ground and ice from customers cars! They were only too happy to provide pureed food for my son. Also a member of staff (Ed) told us the safest way to get home in the bad weather - thank goodness as it was sat nav which got us in this pickle in the first place (lesson learned there!). I cannot praise Anne or her staff highly enough. She and they have my continued thanks and gratitude.

The surprise 80th birthday party for our mother was absolutely fabulous. The manageress organised every detail superbly which ensured everyone had a wonderful time. The bar staff coped admirably with our large party and made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious and served with perfect timing. The hotel grounds and interior are beautiful; we highly recommend the Wrea Head Hotel experience.
