We stayed for one night. This hotel was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The food is good, the rooms are clean. The staff are key to the excellent running of the hotel. We would stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel with a warm, friendly atmosphere. It is in a good, central location. We really could not fault the hotel or staff in the running of this hotel.

My wife and I had a night away at the Wrea Head Country House Hotel after a manic christmas period, we had not visited the hotel before our stay but we will certainly be going back.

It's the sort of hotel where you automatically start to relax the moment you walk through the front door, though its only a 5 minute drive fom Scarborough town centre its set at the end of a long wooded drive and feels like your in the middle of the Yorkshire countryside.

We were greeted on arrival by Clive, who not only insisted on taking our case up to our room also made it clear that he was available for any advice or help whilst we were there.

The hotel has a very old world traditional feel with lots of original features but also has some modern touches such as the new conservatory set off the bar, and very tastefully decorated suites and family rooms (which we were shown round by Anne the hotel manager who could not have been more welcoming). The mix of old and new really works well and nothing seems out of place.

The service from every member of staff we met was first rate, everyone was extremley friendly and helpful and we were made to feel like valued guests rather than just another customer like I've experienced at other hotels.

We had booked to have dinner in the restaurant and were told on arrival that our order would be taken in the bar and we would then be called through to the restaurant when our food was ready (I thought this was a great touch and gave us time for another glass of Champagne!). The menu gave a wide and varied choice for each course and the food itself was excellent.

After dinner we sat by the log fire in the main hall and spent a very pleasent evening relaxing and taking in the atmosphere.

If you are looking for a comfortable base to venture further afield from, or somewhere to spend a day or two just relaxing and enjoying some good food and wine I would not hesitate to recommend the Wrea Head, we will definately be going back .

What can you say about this hotel that has not already been said,
we visited on a travel zoo special 2 night break with upgrade to executive room.
the service at the hotel is second to none and all staff need a big pat on the back for making you feel warm and welcome.
Rooms - We stayed in room 8 which was fantastic with great views of the front lawn with big bay windows to the front and a side window too(plenty of light)
bed was adorned with plenty of snug pillows and looked very regal, my one minor fault would be the bed was too hard for my liking, but i still got a good nights sleep.
bathroom had everything that was required , but if you are a woman take your own hairdryer as its the vacuum hose variety in there.

Dining - Food was fantastic absolutely perfect in every way and deserves recognition , compliments to the Chef.
we were on a set menu which changed for both nights and had plenty of variety, again my one niggle is the dining room lacked atmosphere and was sold as a romantic candle lit dinner for two , but the room was also lit by around 700w of down lighters at full throttle, which meant we sat in a very quiet very well lit room shushing each other and a feeling that i wanted to get the meal over and done with so i could actually talk to my wife .
Again it's a very minor point and did not make me want to deduct anything from was was a fantastic stay and brilliant meal.

All in all a fantastic place that is right where it should be at the top of the tree.

would i go again Yes , and i suggest you do too
