“Three night break in Scarborough”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

We have just spent three nights at the premier Inn in Scarborough. It is a great place to stay if your fancying a seaside break.
It is very central and reasonably new so the rooms are very well kept and extremely comfortable. The car paring can work out expensive as they do not have their own.
Also some of the meals in the restaurant can be a bit under par {cod & Chips) I would not recommend.

This is a typical Premier Inn: a modern, clean and comfortable property. As with many Premier Inns, you get great value for a wonderful stay.

The location is fairly convenient to Scarborough rail station which is a few blocks away and the central shopping district all of a block away. The beachfront, quay and amusements are down the hill with plenty of fun.

Scarborough castle is about a mile away, high on a bluff...but the walk up is rather easy. But be aware to see a lot of Scarborough on foot, be prepared to do a little climbing! The Premier Inn of Scarborough is a great central location to everything here.

Room Tip: Great clean, modern and reasonably priced property in the heart of Scarborough.

As others have mentioned this Premier Inn is central and attached to a Brewers Fayre.

Came by train so parking not the issue, though hotel did call a few days prior to ensure that I knew how to park, and check requirements - nice touch.

Unusual for my last few Premier Inn's there was an old fashioned check in rather than machine - quite a pleasant surprise. Check in quick, I did not appreciated being asked for contribution to a charity box (maybe automated check in kiosks are better). Quite a trek down numerous corridors to room.

Room itself was OK, though view of back yard ugly. Air con would not chill, and with window open you get noise from nearby premises extractors and staff smoking in back yard. As only one night, I put up, as too late to want to move, but reported to reception in morning who disputed that aircon would not work, and refuted that there would be any noise at night. I think they may have been trying to reject any potential claim under the good nights sleep guarantee - I was not going to claim - just asking to sort for the next poor person that had that room. Not good impression.

There's a good Wetherspoons near the station so ate there at night, so cannot comment on food.

Suggest that try and avoid rooms at back - front rooms better outlook and road noise better than back yard noise.

Room Tip: Avoid room overlooking back yard - noisy and ugly.

Stayed for 2 nights in a large room with a very large bathroom! The beds were cosy, the room was warm, the staff were friendly and helpful - we were right in the town and near the seafront: on site Brewers Fayre for cheap and cheerful pub grub or close to loads of restaurants of varying price ranges - only down side is no onsite parking

Finally, after 5 years, abandoned the Travelodge for the Premier inn for our winter pre-Christmas break. What a difference ..... everything worked!

The reception(ist) was warm and friendly and the whole place exuded an air of welcome. The lift worked (didn't at T'lodge) and the room was well stocked, clean and bright (no money-saving dim lighting). Everything was spotless, fresh towels and restocked hospitality trays each day.

The only grouse was the glazing didn't keep out the noise from the street. Early morning delivery lorries to the other establishments and "merry" late night revellers could be plainly heard through the windows.

Room Tip: Perhaps avoid rooms overlooking the street if you like to either turn in early or sleep in.

Got a great deal, I was warmly welcomed by Monica the Receptionist on duty, had a lovely room, very spacious and comfortable, and even through it was at the front of the hotel, it was very quiet. The restaurant provided good food and catered for my diet restriction, ( if you are coeliac or gluten free,or have any other diet restriction, try to let the Premier know before you stay, I always do and am catered for every time). All staff were very friendly and welcoming. I was also emailed in advance about parking close by.

Room Tip: I have always been happy with my rooms in any part of any Premier Inns I have stayed at, they have a...
