“Lovely Stay”
Reviewed 31 January 2013

Spent overnight at Palm Court - wished it could have been longer!! Outside, entrance and lounge were beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. Underground car parking super - just don't do what i did and drive into the public car park which is the first entrance. Again give Palm Court credit they do provide a very clear map about location of car park - I just didn't read it!! Staff were so helpful and accommodating going beyond their professional duties in my opinion in order to help. I was staying with my elderly mother who had arrived several hours before me - access to room was allowed before check in time. I stayed in lovely lounge area after my mother went to bed and received text from my daughter (student and living in Scarborough) asking if she could pop in to see me - it was late at night but when i asked at Reception they were so helpful and even commented on how nice this would be for me to have my daughters company. Breakfast in the morning was served in dining room with sparkling cutlery, sparkling linen, sparkling staff and equally important superb food. I went for Full English - all great - Mother went for Kipper (I tasted it - great!!) Spent morning drinking tea and eating home made shortbread - tough job but somebody had to do it (even after Full English!) Added touch of luxury was Grand Piano with a very talented player - so smartly dressed. Please Mr Palm Court Manager - if your staff have stretched hotel rules - compliment them and continue to encourage this superb level of customer service! Final comment - left something in the room by mistake and sent email - time was taken by Palm Court to phone me back rather than email (which would have been fine) Palm Court again so helpful in arranging return of lost ("left") property. Well done Palm Court. Hopefully I will be back soon.

We booked our family room on a reduced price and were very impressed. On arriving at the hotel we were greeted by extremely pleasant staff, which continued throughout our overnight stay. The entrance and lounge are very appealing.
We found the bedroom to very spacious, warm and clean. The decor is a little dated however, this would not take anything away from a very enjoyable stay at a very good price.
The breakfast had a wide range to choose from, catering for all tastes.
On checking out, another display of wonderful staff!!
I feel other big hotels nearby could do with taking a leaf out of this hotels book! Can't wait to return.

As a Christmas treat to ourselves, we had an overnight stay at the Palm Court between christmas and the new year, and we were certainly not disappointed. The room was clean, modern and comfortable with everything needed. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and although choice was limited, the food and service were excellent. £22 for three courses and coffees. The bar was warm and welcoming and on a cold winters night. The Palm Court hotel is somewhere we have always fancied staying in and even though it does need a little TLC in places, you can be sure of a warm welcome and great service. We would most definitely recommend this hotel and hopefully be back soon.

The Palm court looks impressive from outside, the lounges and restaurant are also well presented and we arrived on a freezing Saturday afternoon to find a pianist in the lounge and a considerable number of people indulging in a very nice looking traditional afternoon tea -what a surprise!
The bedrooms are comfortable but a little dated and my only issue with the room would be that it was cold. The hotel kindly provided a portable heater and it seemed that nothing is too much trouble for the team who work here.
The 3 course dinner with coffee for £22 is first class for both value, quality and presentation. White linen, shining silverware and candles on the tables - all very well done with excellent service from the young and enthusiastic staff. The food is locally sourced and a lovely breakfast the following morning confirmed it - this must be the place to stay and eat in Scarborough.
The hotel provides free undercover parking for all guests and is located a 2 minute walk from the beach. Its a great place, could not speak highly enough of the friendly management and staff and we will definitely return.

I was originally booked into the Palm Court after my usual Hotel was fully booked. Having been a regular now for over 4 months this is now happily my first choice and first recommendation for anyone staying in Scarborough.

This hotel shouts customer service at its very best from staying in hotels regularly for over 10 years now with my current role . The staff are helpful, friendly, welcoming and appropriate when recognising familiar faces. Nothing is too much trouble and they ensure that their guests are looked after well.

It is good to stay somewhere that retains some of the very best traditions of customer service whilst going that extra mile The food in the restaurant, lounge and room service are superb. The menu at times is limited but you are guaranteed a meal which is not only of high quality but also excellent value.

The accommodation is very clean and comfortable and more often than not I do get a frequent FREE upgrade courtesy of the Hotel which for me only shows the care shown to customers. Free Wi-Fi, car parking are all included which does take the hassle out of settling in a town centre location.

Have already booked in the family for half term and will not stay anywhere else in scarborough. Highly recommended !!

We stayed here for the first time for one night between Christmas and New Year - a good welcome from Reception; free garaging - a rare experience these days; a very good traditional bedroom and an excellent bathroom; a spacious lounge with a good all day menu; - we decided to dine in - a comparatively small menu, a sensible wine list with sound competitive prices - very good food, excellent house wine, very good young restaurant brigade, superbly managed, offering fast courteous and professional service. In the morning a very good buffet continental breakfast or a served English breakfast. This is a hotel that knows how to look after its guests - a credit to the owners and General Manager.

For any one going to this area , please do not miss out on staying at this wonderful hotel. Not only can you expect a very warm and friendly welcome . What they are providing can not be matched by any other of the hotels we have stopped in over the years in Scarborough. From the moment we arrived our every need was catered for. We were shown the full afternoon tea buffet and proceeded to pick from the wonderful selection. Great decorations throughout with charming music piped throughout the day.

The evening meals served in the amazing restaurant, were to die for, but we felt guilty that the staff were working so hard all around us over the christmas period. Lovely comfortable warm rooms, breakfast was equally impressive and the entertainment suited our tastes. We even took full advantage of the complimentary bowls of chocolates left throughout the lounge. We have booked already for Christmas 2013. All in all a truly amazing atmosphere from start to finish.

Yes we agree with some of the other reviews that some areas may need a little TLC on the floors but if you want to be truly spoilt, pampered with enthusiastic staff that smile, with a sense of pride in what they do, rather than grunt and chatter then book at the Palm Court. The best hotel in scarborough bar none!
