Have been many times to this restaurant. On the last two visits we were as always very taken by the food however the service had not been as usual. Last night one of the waiters who was with the restaurant when it first opened had returned and what a difference he made with the service. We did arrive early and were the first in so we got special attention. We thought it would be quiet being a Monday but within a short period of time many tables were filled. I think that the increase was unexpected as I noted he was the only server looking after about twenty people and he coped remarkably well. The Thali dish I had was superb, it is truly a remarkable meal. My wife had a Thali and a friend had a curry. Would highly recommend the food and I simply cannot believe some recent reviews that had not been favourable. I love Indian food but I simply adore Sri Lankan Thali!!

I have been to the Curry leaf quite a few times ,in the early days the food and the young staff were great. I am pleased to say the food is still as good but service is very poor( young staff no longer there).. I think they are getting greedy and over booking. Drinks come in large even if you ask for small ,and they never have any change when the bill arrives .I was even asked to move into the kitchen area to finish our wine as they needed the table !
Such a shame as this could have and should be a real asset to the town.

myself and 3 friends recently visited this restaurant and thought the service was terrible, we had a table booked for 9pm so we got there on time and were seated straight away and given menus it then took 10 mins before anyone came back to see if we wanted drinks and poppadoms which we ordered it then took another 10 mins for these arrive and which point we asked if someone would take our order for food waitress said yes then dissapeared for another 5 mins we evetually ordered after being in the restaurant 25 mins

Then nothing for 20 mins so we asked how long food would be and were told a couple of minutes after another 5 minutes of waiting we told them to forget food as we had waited too long and just give us the bill at ths point our starters arrived which we ate and food was very nice, it then took another 5 mins for someone to take plates away so we cancelled main course and just paid for what we had ate,

at no point did we get an apology for the shocking service, i tghink this could be a nice place if they hired more staff and staff already there were taught some decent customer skills

My husband and myself recently visited following reviews on Tripadvisor. There were only 4 other people dining apart from us. I had Chicken Thalia which came with various little dishes of mango chutney, onion salad and others. My husband had South Indian chicken curry.
Maybe we have been spoiled with the curry houses nearby where we live but would rate this as average.

I completely recommend this Indian/Thai restaurant absolutely fantastic. You get what you pay for quality and excellent service. I would recommend the potato crab cakes as a starter and I think I had southern chicken tandoori with tomato rice and my partner had king prawn curry with spinach rice and we treated ourselves to fudge cake with baileys ice cream.it very intimate setting especially if you go around 7pm when its quieter. and its spotless as well.i give it 10 out of 10.
