“An Oasis”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2014

On the whole, curry restaurants in Scarborough are pretty average, but The Curry Leaf would compare favourably with the best London, Birmingham, Glasgow and Bradford have to offer. I have to confess that I have only tried the vegetarian thali, but at around £10.00, this has to represent one of the best deals going. A beautifully cooked selection of more than half a dozen dishes, in more than adequate portions. Friendly, courteous staff and a very pleasant ambience. Only criticism: Staff should be more aware of special offers. Other than that, heartily recommended.

“good pre-theatre meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2014

We really enjoyed the thali and Indian beer as a pre-theatre meal. Very quiet of course early in the evening but was beginning to fill up when we left. We will add it to our list of good places for an early meal in Scarborough.

“Delicious curry!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2014 via mobile

We read the great reviews so decided to give 'the curry leaf' a try, we went after the theatre. This restaurant is great for pre or post theatre because it is a couple minutes walk away.

The appearance of the place is a little strange. And the decor a little tired. it Is in the basement of a Victorian villa, however don't let this put you off because the food is fantastic!

I had the chicken thali, the portion was huge, chapati, poppidum, good sized portion of really fresh tasting, fairly hot spiced curry, rice, daal and two types of potato curry with various other accompaniments. I have had many thali's including some in India but this is the nicest I've had and at only £10.99 a bargain!

My partner had a vegetarian option of a chilli paneer and aubergine curry, this was also really we'll spiced and really tasty and again at only just over £9 including the rice a bargain.

The food is actually Sri Lankan, not Indian so you will find a mix of curries on the menu with plenty of vegetarian options.

The restaurant is cash only so take some cash!

Well worth a visit for a change from your run of the mill curry house.

“Friendly little curry shop!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2014

The food is very good, with quality ingredients, well prepared & presented. The young woman who served our table was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.

Reasonably priced, and I've no problem in recommending this place for a good curry.
