“CASH ONLY NO CARD !!!!!!!!”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

I have never written a review before but as for this place !!! I travel around UK delivering always spending nights in b & b , hotels.
When you walk to the property up the steps flys everywhere!, once in the property your no why the smell, as the company i work for pay with credit card (can't withdraw cash lots of interest! ) was told had to be cash as i said to him company pay for rooms with credit card. I've never had this problem in 8 years of working for my employer i spend 2 nights out week.
he went out back to make a "phone call" 1 hr later he came back to say no got to be cash i only stayed in the hall it was dirty and the decor if you decide to go it will give you something to laugh about,
In one way glad i never see bedrooms cause of the state of hall !!!!

Some of the comments below are accurate but what is to be expected for the price - it is true the bath has no taps which we found very funny. The 'welcome' was not the best, but the breakfast was good and the guy serving was very helpful - even popping out to get a parking permit for us. There is no wifi in the hotel. Rooms are warm enough ...just.

I was a single woman and did not experience any of the concerns cited below. My room was spotless, if a little cold in November. There was a good TV. The bed was very comfortable. The communal areas are a little faded but it was very good value. The breakfast was very good - kept me going all day! They did ask for money as I checked in but I guess that they may have had people leave without paying. They were very polite and helpful. So I had a good experience! Great location near the town centre and station.

Nice room. Dinning room was well decorated. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms were not sound proof and some of the other residents were so noisy that I was not able to sleep one night. Otherwise not bad at all.

Nice big and clean room. 3min walk from station. The heating in the room was inadequate tho. Heater was too small for a room this size. I know it wasnt tourist sesson so i can understand. Was clean and tidy. So overall, quite satisfied.

We have now stayed here twice and both times we had a clean room and a good welcome . The people at the hotel were friendly and helpful to us. for the money it costs it was good value, the breakfast was actually very nice and was served quickly the kitchen was really clean and modern but the house itself is decorated in a shabby chic style which worked well with its surroundings . Although the hotel is basic it has the amenities that you would need and was ideally situated. As long as you understand that you get what you pay for you will be fine at this hotel.we paid £3 for a 24hour parking ticket which goes to the council and had no problems.

When we arrived we were met by a wierd man who basically got us worrying straight away, we booked a double room, but were shown a family room which is not to bad and on the first floor, when i tried to lock the door it wouldnt, i told him about this and he said slam it to lock. having paid for a shared bathroom, i didnt think the other people staying there would appreciate me slamming it everytime i needed the loo.
also everytime i went out of the room he suddenly appeared (reason for the title) he gave me the heebeee geebees!!!! the mother i think it was the mother wandering the hotel shouting IAN!!!. while trying to relax and then going to sleep somebody tried the door twice resulting in a lack of sleep, then we got up had breakfast which was the best thing about the stay at the hotel, safe to say we were up and gone by 9:30 sharp!!!!!!!
