Our third stay at this lovely hotel. It is simply the best everything about it is first class well done Alex and Julie we had a great time thanks. The weather was very kind to us enabling us to have a nice relaxing time in the resort and enjoyed some trips out a little further afield

Room Tip: We had no.9this time but no.3 would have to be the overall winner

Arrived around 12 room Alex did not know if the the room was ready but did not expect this as we were quite early. Called back around 4 the door was open we rung the bell and Julie appeared asking how we got in ...strange.... We asked for the key but she insisted on showing my wife the room [ i stayed downstairs ] . Room clean and quite nice . Breakfast was good but not exceptional [ only served from 8/30 to 9/30] even on a lazy sunday morning . We paid £87 per night which was for the best room and was fair value..Perhaps we have been spoiled by some wonderful places visited recently but we both thought this 2 day stay was ok without being memorable.

This unfair negative review was expected from the moment of arrival. So to redressed the balance, check in is from 2pm, unfortunately the fairies don't clean the room to our high standards ,myself and staff have from 10.30(checkout time) till 2pm to do this. If we have done our magic before this time guest are more welcome to check in early. On arrival I always welcome guest with a pot of tea or coffee which most guest enjoy, on this occasion the offer was refused. Guests are always shown to their room and are shown how to use the tv,s shower etc, this guest didn't like this service. Reviews like this just make the job we love so much harder, and I hope future guests can read between the lines and see that we have many repeat guest who are happy to enjoy their holiday.

Situated in a good location close the the Open Air Theatre and Peasholme Park at the North Bay. We stayed for two nights in a deluxe twin. The room was small but had en-suite shower room and I would rate cleanliness as second to none. There were nice touches such as chocolates, bottled water and robes in the room. We were welcomed with a pot of coffee and home-made shortbread which was very nice. Breakfast was also very good and so was the service. One needs to be aware that this accommodation is located on a busy main road with heavy traffic throughout the day and night. Even with windows closed our sleep quality was severely affected and we have returned home feeling very tired. Although the windows are double glazed I would suggest they need some secondary glazing and some sound-proofing to the internal walls as we could hear everything from guests in both adjoining rooms and above us.

Very friendly and welcoming.
Spotless clean bedrooms and all public areas.
Delicious breakfast. Great choice, juices, cereals, fruit, preserves, lovely homemade touches, plus the cooked breakfast, excellent.
Excellent, comfortable friendly bar.
We were lucky as the weather was kind, very warm, we asked for a fan for our bedroom so we didnt have to sleep with the window open, this was provided immediately.
Ideal location, handy for beach, Peasholm park etc.
Would not hesitate to recommend, we will definitely book to stay here again.

It was a pleasure to meet you both, I think Dave's favourite was the trio of local sausages with Alex's rich onion gravy! Hope to see you both again.

When any establishment constantly achieves glowing accolades then suddenly one or two dodgey reports creep in it can send alarm bells ringing, don't let any such comments put you off visiting the gem of a place I discovered last week. My good lady and myself enjoyed a splendid short stay at The Alexander Hotel on Scarborough's north side. What a splendid experience it was too, the room was very nice indeed, excellent bathroom too, the whole decor was first class with no 'cheap' paint jobs and dodgy joinery ventures which sadly can happen. Breakfast was just right, served by a chirpy Julie and her team while Alex beavered away in the kitchen. The evening meal was simply splendid and certainly not a run of the mill offering, it's quality defied the hotel's reasonable prices. But it was the friendliness of this hard working couple (plus helpers) which shone through and demonstrated just why you should make a note of their hotel if being near to the sea, off road parking, excellent food and cosy bar are on your list of holiday requirements. We will return.

Thank you much for your review, we do try our utmost to make everyone's stay a wonderful memory , but my dear mum had a wonderful saying ' You can lead a horse to water you can't make it drink' LOL. Everything Alexander is done with care and attention that's why so many return! See you soon.
