We enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again. The owner/managers were very friendly and anxious to please and helped us out with local information when needed.
The hotel is located a little out of town, near Peasholm Park (taxi £5 to the railway station), but this distance is walkable in about 20-25 minutes.
Our twin room was large and spotlessly clean and even had two bathrooms!. A slight negative, my bed was extremely soft and perhaps a little saggy, which didn't help my back, perhaps due for replacement?
We enjoyed the cooked breakfast provided, but I missed my kippers which would have been a nice extra touch which some hotels offer.
I gather the dinner is worth havining, but note you need to book well in advance (10am on the day) or you'll miss out as we did. However, we discovered an excellent restaurant (Cafe Fish) and an over-priced, pretentious and rather average restaurant (Peppers) - avoid.
The hotel now accepts credit cards, to update an earlier review.
