We have been visiting Yorkshire and Scarborough in particular for many years, staying in a variety of accommodation, and have only recently discovered this lovely guest house, run with love and pride by Jo and her team. It is immaculately clean, well appointed and well located with its own small car park. The food is excellent, the rooms lovely and above all the welcome and local knowledge are superlative. Book early to avoid disappointment, as it is cosy and extremely popular, though Jo will always do her best to help you.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 11, which has a sea view balcony and a bathroom with bath and shower, but speak di...

Had a fantastic week here with our 3 kids over Spring Bank and we all thoroughly enjoyed it, so much so our girls have demanded we always stay here when visiting Scarborough and we've already booked to go back in a few weeks! Jo is so accommodating with nothing too much trouble and makes you feel right at home :) can honestly say it's the best place we've ever stayed and can't wait to go back! Scarlet informs me she wants to try kippers for breakfast next time LOL. See you soon, lots of love Amy, Chris, Izabel, Scarlet & Logan xxx

what a fantastic little find, will defo go back, was disappointed that the guest house was fully booked for the following bank holiday. Note to self book early. The guest house bright, clean, modern yet feels old fashioned, the breakfast was fantastic and well cooked and presented, sleep quality was lovely the beds very comfortable. we had a side sea view. we got free parking. only £120.00 for 2 nights for the 2 of us.

Room Tip: we had room 5 side sea view, but some of the other rooms facing the south bay have small balconies

after a hard few months where my wife grace & I needed a holiday it was 18 years since our last visit to scarborough but somewhere I used to go a lot with my family growing up but moved to Scotland when I was 16, anyway we had booked to see katy perry on the 10th may in Newcastle so the day after choose to go to scarborough for a week & the duke of York ticked all the boxes for us we arrived by train & got a taxI there merchants row is one of the oldest streets in scarborough which looks great driving up to it and there it was a lovely dream guest house but better still when we ran the door bell in matter of seconds there she was a real peoples superstar no not katy perry but the lovely owner jo she showed us round and said she could do us anything for breakfast there was always a big bowl of fruit which was nice & I got black pudding added to mine the staff was lovely val & Karen, we were given room 7 had seen some photos but to see it in person really took our breath away the windows is the length of the room & theres a table & 2 chairs there my wife said you go & enjoy yourself & I will sit here for the next week!!!! everything about the place is perfect its near the sea front yet quiet theres steps down or if you prefer walk down to the right to the harbour where there gift shops & cafes or to the left a few more gift shops then town centre then after that cross over for train & bus stop for Whitby, it was my wifes birthday on the 14th I asked jo if she could get some flowers & I would pay later she said she would but said it would be there tweet on that day there were little happy birthdays on the table cloth & went up stairs to find a card ,a box of chocs & 15 red roses what a lovely surprise , but you can tell with jo she enjoys making people happy & I will say this its people like jo & val that make this world a better place they really made our holiday special & jo who had been busy with breakfast still found time to take us back to the train station, so if anyone is reading this review you will never find better value than this or as simon cowell would say I didn't like it no I LOVED IT !!!!

Room Tip: we were in room 7 with stunning sea views
