Had a short break in scarborough and couldn't find much choice for our daughter (Gluten free). After asking at loads of fish n chip restaurants we dropped on this one who did the chips in a separate fryer, fantastic.

Visited with the kids for tea and was really impressed. Fish was fresh and beautifully cooked, service was friendly and the place was spotlessly clean. Huge improvement on Winkin Willies the previous night!

was staying nearby and had to walk past it to get to the sea front....on our first night we decided to get fish and chips on the front and were soooo disappointed with what we got we chucked it away away and decided to get a take away from the lifeboat on the way back to our accomadation and we were NOT dissapointed and went on to visit a few more times as was was just a 1 minute walk away, altho tucked away this really is the best chippy in scarborough.

After the disappointment of the Golden Grid the other night I followed the advice of Tripadvisor reviewers and visited the Lifeboat Fishbar and I'm glad I did. Small shop, just off the sea front with half a dozen tables in the back. I had the Haddock special at £7.60. Decent sized piece of haddock, freshly cooked (perfectly) in a light batter, chips and mushy peas, pot of tea and a slice of bread and butter. Friendly staff, spotlessly clean, prompt service. Do yourself a favour and pay a visit.

Went here twice in three days as the quality of the fish was so good. The second time was rather spoiled as a very large family came in to eat who had no volume control! Cannot be marked down though as the dining area is small so this cannot be avoided but don't let this put you off. Also staff very helpful with young child with us
