A taste of Italy. Hospitality from Yorkshire and Italy combined in a taste sensation I've not experienced beyond Italy. I will definitely return. Well worth the hour and a half drive from Darlington. Thank you for your wonderful food and service Pomodoro.

Our group of 7 were made very welcome. The food was fantastic. Lovely simple well presented food. Option to have lobster if you wanted a "special". The formica tables give the wrong impression but the lovely relaxed atmosphere and food more than make up for it. Take your own alcohol if you wish. We would go again.

We went a party of four one lunch time, not terribly busy but the choices on offer were plentiful and looked amazing, was hard to choose but I settled for the beef lasagne which when came was absolutely delicious the pasta was fresh the sauce was seasoned perfectly and the minced beef was melt in your mouth all topped of with a generous helping of grated Parmesan cheese, we had to share a pudding which was equally as generous in portion size and just as appetizing, have recommended this place to friends and family and will be booking one evening soon, well done keep up the good work!

I've just returned from my meal at Pomodoro. We were the only table in and the order was wrong. We took our four year old with us who loves Italian. There was no children's menu available anywhere we could see so we ordered him a Margarita pizza as its a fairly safe choice. When the pizza arrived it was covered in pesto which wasn't described on the menu much to his dislike. We then unwrapped his knife and fork from the napkin to discover the staff thought it OK to give a child of that age a sharp steak style knife. The food overall was good quality but very sloppy on the plate towards the middle. We then asked for some ketchup to mask the overwhelming pesto smell to which the chefs were making very loud rude comments about people having ketchup. We couldn't wait to get out of there quick enough especially after we were asked 5 times in 10 minutes if everything was OK. Its safe to say we won't be returning. The idea of the place is good but the food was substandard compared to the other Italian restaurants in town.
