We stay in Scarborough every year in September for a long weekend, and always at the Stuart hose Hotel in Rutland Place. A family ran hotel for families and us old folk alike. Great choices at breakfast times from fruit right through to a full english!! See you next September Andy & Helen, a truly lovely weekend, again.

Room Tip: Some rooms have bunks fitted for the little ones, plenty of room

We had a lovely weekend 14th to 16th september 2012. It was my mum and dads 70th birthday so there was eight of us. We were made to feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The family room was very comfortable and had a lovely sea view. The breakfast was superb and faultless. Would not hesitate to book again and will recommend to my family and friends.

RIP OFF! they made me think i was staying at Stewart in TOWN. These con artists made me think i was booking to stay in the middle of town not right out here miles from anywhere! What a nasty f**king trick. Then they would not give me my money back. The room was cold and dirty there where hairs in the bed and the loo was awful. I have been robbed and cheated. DO NOT STAY HERE!

These people didn't actually stay here. We have had no one ask for their money back or say that they were at the wrong guest house. Even though we aren't in the centre of town, we are pretty central to all facilities. Looking at the other reviews posted on the same day as this one from these people, they also stayed at two other establishments, one, St Nicholas Lodge, used to be called the Stewart Hotel, this no longer exists.

Having made a last minute decision to grab an overnight stay and chill out on the coast we landed in Scarborough - not having booked we checked out the North Bay for some decent accommodation at a reasonable price. Some of the hotels it has to be said look somewhat worse for wear but we were fortunate to get a room at the Stuart.
Easy and quick check in, pleasantly received by the host. The room ( we had room 1 ) - very comfy bed, room had everything you needed, en suite, towels, some travel toiletries in case you travel light. Breakfast was fine - well laid out and again a prompt service and easy check out. All in all good value, good service - would we return ? Absolutely.

Anything to change ? ... minor .. Simple coffee for tray in room as cappuccino provided but cups too small to accommodate.

Room Tip: Room 1 4 poster bed

Just returned from a long weekend with the wife, The hotel is well located overlooking the North bay. The owner is friendly and made us feel very welcome right from the start. Our roon (Nr 8) was clean and comfortable with an excellent sea view. The breakfast was very nice and the service was excellent. We would have no problems recommending the hotel to friends. The only small point of note was the hotel does'nt have it own car park. There are parking bays along the road outside and parking permits are available from the hotel, cost us £1 for a 2 day permit.

stayed 1 night 22nd August, family very welcoming, provided parking permit and lent buckets and spades for kids even though we arrived 3 hours before room was ready.
room was top floor family room, excellent choice for our family, spotlessly clean and homely.
breakfast was plentiful and well presented, efficient service and lovely food.
only recommendation would be that the bar could be placed in lounge upstairs.
definately return

Room Tip: top floor family room fantastic except for seagull noise!

Nice clean hotel with very friendly owners, we stayed in the family room with adjoining bedroom for the kids with sea views. Breakfast was fantastic, we had such a good time we stayed an extra night. Parking is an issue around the hotel but location maked up for it. Will definately come again.

Room Tip: Room 15 is on the top floor (not for the unfit!) but the adjoining room which has 2 sets of bunkbeds...
