What a wonderful place to visit. I had heard/seen about it on the television and it certainly lived up to expectations. Unfortunately we missed the naval warfare battles but by all accounts they're a prime attraction and well worth seeing. However we did manage to walk around the lake, go on a pedal boat, cross the bridge to the island and walk up to the pagoda. On our second visit, yes we liked it so much, we walked through the glen and right up to the top, via the pitch and putt (too early for that unfortunately). Not to make sure we hadn't missed anything we went back on our last evening in Scarborough and walked around the lake when all the lights were on. Well kept gardens, although toilets could do with a bit of a makeover, nice cafe and kiosks and helpful, knowledgeable gardeners who were a pleasure to talk to. Free organ recital to listen too as well.
