“When in Scarborough make sure you don't miss this”
Reviewed 13 August 2011

What a wonderful place to visit. I had heard/seen about it on the television and it certainly lived up to expectations. Unfortunately we missed the naval warfare battles but by all accounts they're a prime attraction and well worth seeing. However we did manage to walk around the lake, go on a pedal boat, cross the bridge to the island and walk up to the pagoda. On our second visit, yes we liked it so much, we walked through the glen and right up to the top, via the pitch and putt (too early for that unfortunately). Not to make sure we hadn't missed anything we went back on our last evening in Scarborough and walked around the lake when all the lights were on. Well kept gardens, although toilets could do with a bit of a makeover, nice cafe and kiosks and helpful, knowledgeable gardeners who were a pleasure to talk to. Free organ recital to listen too as well.

“A great park to visit.”
Reviewed 11 May 2011

This is a surprisingly good park to visit and walk around ... and it's free! It has been well designed and engineered in a natural wooded glen with its own stream, ponds and a good size boating lake. Because it is in a glen it is well protected from the wind, which makes the gentle walks quite refreshing. It has been designed on an oriental theme and this adds some character and interest to the environment. Besides boating there is also a 9-hole pitch-n-put golf course on site too. Altogether it makes a very pleasant half day out or an hour or two walk in pleasant surroundings. Highly recommended.

Reviewed 28 August 2010

Nice little park to wander around and take a boat out,

DO NOT MISS THE NAVAL WARFARE - fantastic fun

Eat at the North Bay chip shop (or may be called NB fisherie) next o a cafe just outside park with a notice proclaiming an award and it is definetly the best fish and chips around

“The most beautiful place to visit and it's free!!!”
Reviewed 4 July 2008

4th July 2008

Spent morning at Peasholm Park and it was lovely, unusual to find an oriental themed park in the middle of a beach town so had to take a look for myself.

Visited the island and climbed to the Pagoda (take it slowly and treat yourself to an ice cream afterwards) also walked around the lake and visited Peasholm Glen (ok went the wrong way - happy accident). Take some bread as I saw plenty of people feeding ducks/swans/geese. Also saw miniture golf and boating on lake and fabulous dragon pedalos (too lazy to pilot self though).

Visited the cafe which was very clean and offered good choice of hot and cold food and drinks options and ice-cream.

Sadly also visited toilets and this is the one area that stopped the park being excellent as they were so old and looked like something from a prison but they were clean if nothing else!
