As a child I loved going round the park, especially the tree walk. Last Friday I walked round the whole park listening to lots of different musical groups singing carols, one of which included my grand daughter. The rain tried its best to dampen spirits but all the participants sang their hearts out and it made for a very special start to the Christmas festivities . Well done to all the musicians, and to the organisers.

This park dates back to the Victorian era and is kept in good order. There is an extensive set of walks through woods along side streams. The main lake has a “Chinese island” you can visit and a band stand, but the star is the sea battle using large models, aircraft and “ live firing”. It used to be the Battle of the River Plate but is now more politically correct

Visited the park mainly because me and my husband hadn't been for years. The park is still lovely even in winter but the amount of squirrels put me off a bit. I love the wildlife and enjoy seeing them running around but when you stopped walking they appeared from everywhere and wouldn't leave you alone in the end we ended up leaving the park. Don't let this put you off the park is lovely just don't stop for to long

We love to visit this park any time of the year. In fact we have visited during all four seasons and there is always something new to see with the trees and shrubs, lake, ducks and squirrels.
Lovely walk around the lake or through the less well known parks of the park. There is seating if you want to take a break even in the Winter its worth sitting a while in the sun. Great that the toilets are still open out of season too.
