Perfekt stay for couples Who like to have a quiet holliday in a typical english style and service. Small and cosy. Sutable for all ages. We are to couples in the early fourty's, without kids, and just love the place. We comes from Norway once a year, always for minimum ten days, in the summer.
Stayed over with my wife on Saturday evening to collect our son from Uni. Although it was only 1 night it's clearly an establishment that takes pride in attention to detail and attention to guests. We didn't have time to make use of the facilities, or even the complimentary glass of wine/juice, but everything was tip top. The room was excellent and perfect for our requirements, clean, tidy, and stylish. Would definitely stay again and have already recommended it to family.
My only tips/ideas to improve things are a small flask of chilled milk for tea/coffee (we stayed a B&B in North Yorks that did this) rather than carton milk, and we couldn't find the check out times - but may not have looked properly in what was a well presented and detailed guest book.
Have recently returned from the Mansion House Scarborough . What a fantastic hotel. We had a sea view premier room which was absolutely superb.. The layout and room facilities have been properly planned and thought out. The breakfast was first class our only complaint is that they do not serve Dinner; although we accept the reason given why they don't. Hope to return very soon.
The Mansion House is located on the Esplanade at the southern end of the Scarborough sea front, around 15 to 20 minutes’ walk from the centre of town. We booked a sea view room on the top floor and the view across the bay each morning more than compensated for the climb up the stairs (there is no lift). The rooms are traditionally styled and comfortable, although a little dated.
We don’t generally spend much time in hotel lounges but the lounge at the Mansion House was a particularly pleasant and relaxing room, with an honesty bar available for late night drinks (or even mid-morning ones for that matter).
The service from the staff was excellent throughout our stay and the hotel had a very relaxed feel to it. The breakfasts were excellent, with a large range of options available. The meat is sourced locally and its quality was apparent.
We stayed as a family of 4 in the top floor family room which was wonderful. No sea views but this did not detract from our stay. The hotel is a smashing place to stay. Clean, comfortable, friendly and situated in a prime position looking out to sea. The breakfast was beautifully presented, tasty and set us all up for the day. South Cliff is a wonderful area of Scarborough, the hotel is opposite the Italian Gardens which are stunning. We walked along the beach many times soaking up the atmosphere.
Will definitely return to this gem of a place. Many thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

'Absolutely loved the Mansion House. Stayed with a friend for 3 nights. Neither of us had stayed on South Cliff before, we were both impressed. The Esplanade is lovely with beautiful buildings, views, gardens and the added bonus of free parking! Easy walk into the town centre (15 -20 minutes) or down through the Italian gardens to the beach (10 -15 minutes) Cliff lift back up if you don't like hills!
Mansion House is very clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished and decorated in keeping with the period of the property.
All the staff we encountered were extremely friendly, attentive and helpful but not overbearing. The young man who checked us in, gave us directions to the nearest shops (for the wine), recommended places to eat, and served us breakfast the following morning was exceptional. As was the breakfast.
The sea view from the room was also amazing.
We were blessed with sun, sun and sun but would definitely return out of season.
