“Enjoyed every stay, can't wait for the next one!”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

Found La Baia by chance at the end of November 2011, enjoyed my short stay so much that I couldn't wait to go back in 2012!! Have stayed numerous times since then, sometimes on my own, but also with friends who have enjoyed their stay as much as me!! Elaine and Tony are two of the nicest most friendly hosts, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The food is excellent and plentiful. I've seen the full English breakfast, but never dared to order - amazing portions - forget diets! Meal times are flexible and the prices are very reasonable so it makes sense to have evening meals at the hotel (instead of searching for a café or restaurant) before going to the theatre or shows. Have already booked to go back again in 2014 - can't wait!!

Room Tip: All of the rooms I've stayed in have been equally good.

Taken me some time to write a review but anyway here goes.

Friendly with a great breakfast. The fresh fruit with cereal followed by the full English breakfast was a great start to the day.

Room was on the top floor which is quite a lot of stairs if you are not fully fit so mention when booking. Room I would say is fairly standard but clean and comfortable and we had a great view over the sea and bay. There was a bit of an issue with getting A TV picture and when mentioned a replacement TV was offered. However, as I think it was an aerial problem we declined. Hopefully fixed now and just affected our room.

The bar area has free WiFi and is used and friendly owners and fellow guests. I broke my rule and actually had an evening meal in the place where I stayed (I like to go out) and was not sorry. Good portions and quality food at reasonable prices.

Location is OK when you get your bearings and reasonable walk to town and beaches. On street parking which needs a parking permit which is supplied by the hotel. The charge is quite trivial so would have been a nice gesture if the hotel had supplied free. I don't have young children now but there is a play park nearby.

The only reason I have not given 5 stars as no WiFi in the room. Agreed it is not advertised with in room WiFi but I would never give a full rating to anywhere who do not offer this service or charges a fortune for a few hours use.

Good stay and would probably stay again if in the area for friendly owners an excellent breakfast.

Room Tip: If you have difficulty climbing stairs mention when booking.

Thank you for a lovely review! We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay at La Baia and also the evening meal. We bought a new television for the room and we should have wifi access on the top floor in the New Year. We wish you a Happy New Year and hope to see you in 2014.

We first stayed in La Baia Hotel in August 2012 and we thought it was brilliant. The room was extremely clean with a new modern bathroom and lovely view. Breakfast each morning was enjoyable with plenty to choose from. We found Tony and Elaine to be very friendly and welcoming. They were happy to help with any queries. We have now stayed there 3 times in total and we love it more each time. We will definitely be going back each year; twice if we can!! Thank you for making us feel valued as customers and helping us to enjoy our stay in Scarborough.

Had a short break at La Baia Hotel. Room was well decorated, very clean and comfortable, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space,en suite also very clean and had a powerful shower.Although we had a room at the back and on the top floor of the hotel we still had a great sea view. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice and well cooked.Elaine and Tony were the perfect hosts.

My sister and brother in law myself and my husband spent the weekend at La Baia, we all absolutely loved it, we had a superb evening meal at the hotel, and the breakfasts were delicious, Tony and Elaine made us feel very welcome, they are friendly and very helpful. Our rooms were lovely and the shower was better than ours at home, The atmosphere in the lounge bar was great, we will definately be going to stay there again. Thankyou La Baia.

Our second visit to La Baia and we really enjoyed our weekend. The premier room was lovely and with the fantastic sea view, wow... wonderful food, comfy bed and Elaine and Tony being the perfect hosts what more could you ask for a chilled and pampered stay. See you next time.

Room Tip: A room with a sea view is a must!

I have just returned from a wonderful 4 days away at the La baia hotel on Scarborough's superb north bay.
As this was a birthday treat,we opted for a premier sea view room which has a lovely bay window,so you can sit and enjoy a complimentory tea or coffee and look out at the many things the view gives you.
We have stayed in many rooms at the hotel and they are all of the same high standard, spotlessly clean ,warm comfortable and they have everything you need for an enjoyable stay.
Elaine and Tony who own the hotel maintain high standards, and are always on hand to help you have a nice break.Tony cooks the most scrumptous breakfasts, after cerials porridge fruit etc, Tony will prepare you smoked haddock,or the full english,or many other things, the choice is varied,it's all very nice indeed,we also had two evening meals and these really are worth a try,and excellant value,Tonies home made apple pie is not to be missed.
The hotel wasn't full this time around, but everyone staying there seemed to enjoy there stay as much as we did, having a drink and chatting in the lovely bar on an evening.
My wife had some sad news during our stay, but we decided to stay on and Elaine and Tony were fantastic with kind words and sympathy whilst still helping us enjoy my birthday treat.(cake and candles included)
Thank you so much, and can't wait to see you at christmas.

Room Tip: All rooms are nice but for a treat the premier rooms 4 and 8 are worth the little extra charge
