Overall the hotel is a typically sea side hotel the hotel it is spotlessly clean good staff are friendly, They can not seem to serve the food hot we complained several times but it made no difference. The entertainment was good and the lounge stayed busy until late in the evening which is a good sign.. Our waitress Abey was fantastic time to have a laugh but still looked after her guests.
A big downfall was the price of the drinks at the bar, way over the top it spoiled what could have been a good break.
Our room was kept in top order and the bed was comfortable.

Room Tip: Our friends room looked over a tumbledown building but as you don't spend time in the room was n...

Just returned from the Red Lea Hotel a blissful five day break.Home from home comfort, food plentiful, fresh and a wide selection. All the staff were were polite, cheerful and always helpful which led to a happy atmosphere for all the guests. The Hotel had recently been redecorated, rooms were spotless, fresh linen and towels were provided daily by the housekeeping staff. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, a special mention to Jo the Restaurant Supervisor who was one of the most happy and helpful person I have had the pleasure of meeting. Last but not least the entertainment was first class, especially the singer / comedian on Wednesday night. If and when we return to Scarborough it will be certain to be at The Red Lea Hotel.

Room Tip: We were positioned at the rear of the building with no outlook whatsoever. If you require a room wit...

The Red Lea is a good hotel nice and clean.the food is ok, my reason for not giving a 4 rating is i dont eat puddings so asked if i could have cheese and crackers,i could but it would have cost me extra. so i mentioned it to our coach driver who had a word with management.and he was told to tell me.to say i was vegetarian.how could i do that when i had just had chicken for my main meal???????? and what has that to do with puddings..........

Spent 3 days with my son, greta location for Scaraborough and surrounding area, very friendly staff, clean and pleasant rooms and the swimming pool was great. Will certainly go back and stay there again, great to find hotels like this.

We arrived on the 30 Aug for a two night stay. Booking in was quick and clear. Our room number was 201, remember that number because you will never want to stay in that room and if every room mirrors 201 then you never want to stay in this hotel. The room was clean but then we look into the bathroom which had a bath with a dirty rubber bath mat and no shower. We did ask if we could have a room with a shower but were told there was no more rooms available. So we found ourselves having to shower at my parents house. The red lea hotel has got to be the waste £100.00 per night that we have stayed. Carl and Beverley Wilkinson.

Good location, parking no problem and a free permit. Food 7/10 but well cooked and hot. Didn't like the warm fruit juice in the morning though! We were here for. 3 nights. A 74 year old ( who loved. It) a 51 year old that liked it, me 41 thought it was good but not amazing and 8 year old who loved the pool especially. Changing rooms a bit shabby but it was nice and clean and warm. 74 year old found it very difficult to get out the pool as the step to the shallow end is quite steep when your knees don't work so good. Room was clean if a bit dated but bathroom was brand new and whirlpool bath was great! Would stay again but would have a sea view. The clientele was 90% over 60 so wouldn't be great for a bunch of crazy kids. Nice to have the wifi which worked well. Staff were all really nice! Would recommend

Just spent a week at the Red Lea with Buckleys coach tours ( highly recomend ) we were given a room at the back of the hotel when we arrived it was a very nice room but as the weather was very hot the room was the same with only a small window then i noticed it was a double bed and we booked a twin room months before, after speaking to the owner he allocated us a new room with twin beds and a fantastic view of the bay through a large bay window ( 218 ) from then on it got better, great food wonderful caring staff very clean throughout, a really nice friendly hotel, we will be going back next year, there is also a great swimming pool to use after a tiring day,
